CHIMICHURI RUN lept to the top of the leader board with a stylish victory in the first of the competition bonuses, the Gr.1 Tsogo Sun, and now looks to be the dominant sprinter of his generation. On a day that belonged to the Sean Tarry yard, CELTIC SEA, flew up late to take top honours in the Gr.1 SA Fillies Sprint ahead of the ever consistent SNOWDANCE who advertised her well being for the remainder of the season. And, in Cape Town, VARDY staked his claim for a possible tilt at the Vodacom Durban July when easily accounting for ONE WORLD in the Gr.3 Winter Classic, earning his supporters a valuable 9 points in the process.
On the “human” leader board, there was some shuffling of the pack and now NEIL MOODLEY 10 leads by 4 on 159 points from DURBAN 14 who is another 4 points clear of the joint third placed SHIVI3ZN 21 and LETS GO BIG 19.
The top ten is currently:
1. NEIL MOODLEY 10 – 159 POINTS
2. DURBAN 14 – 155 POINTS
3. SHIVI3ZN 21 – 151 POINTS
LETS GO BIG 19
5. DURBAN 12 – 149 POINTS
KEVIN A 12
7. SHIVI3ZN 23 – 146 POINTS
8. IN MEMORY OF THE LATE ASHLEN SEVLALL 1 - 144
9. SHIVI3ZN 19 – 143 POINTS
10. CCP 2 – 140 POINTS
This weekend, the action moves to Greyville for the historic and prestigious running of the two Gr.1’s for the country’s best middle distance three year olds, the Daily News 2000 and the Woolavington for fillies. The Gr.3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup offers the older stayers in the competition a chance to get on the leader board, but all eyes will be on the fascinating KZN debut of HAWWAAM who is likely to start a very short priced favourite in the Daily News 2000. FRONT AND CENTRE made a very encouraging start to her local season and is the rop rated filly in the Woolavington Stakes. In the Lonsdale, STRATHDON returns to action in preparation for a tilt at the eLan Gold Cup on 26 July. A racemeeting not to be missed!

Well done Prish007
I unfortunately did not include the right sprinters, so for all intents and purposes my Charity Turf season is over
Only slight chance left probably the 'July day' competition

Well done Prish007
I am still in India must say having some fun with my customery entries. 2 years back Frodo finished 3rd I think and I had 2 entries in the top 10. Hopefully this year someone from the Clan can win. I am in 8th still with a chance. I am picking tellytrack in India however only live racing and old shows. Not picking up under starters order. Any idea how to view live. Previously used to pick-up but no more. Good luck to everyone in the competition

CHARITY TURF CHALLENGE 2019 sponsored by TRACK & BALL
HAWWAAM established himself as the dominant middle distance performer of his generation when comfortably taking the Gr.1 Daily News 2000 from the hard-knocking TWIST OF FATE, both now leading point scorers in the competition. After months of speculation, in his post-race interview with Deez Dyanand, Mike de Kock confirmed Hawwaam’s participation in the Vodacom Durban July subject to the go-ahead from his owner, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This will add greatly to South Africa’s most famous race and an exciting clash against the Cape’s top performers is now firmly on the cards.
In the fillies equivalent, the Gr.1 Woolavington Stakes, SILVANO’S PRIDE appreciated the step up in trip when turning the tables on FRONT AND CENTRE earning 20 and 14 points respectively. BLOSSOM gave credibility to Highveld form in finishing third.
With only 21 points separating the top ten entries, the competition remains wide open and after the weekend results, SHIVI3ZN 21 is the new leader on 199 points.
The top ten is currently:
1 Shivi3ZN 21 199
2 Neil Moodley 10 193
3 Durban 14 189
4 Shivi3ZN 22 186
5 Neil Moodley 6 184
6 Durban 12 183
Kevin A 12 183
8 Wheelspin 19 181
9 Shivi3ZN 23 180
10 In Memory of the
late Ashlen SEVLALL 1
178 Drill Them 19
178 Saych 2
This weekend enjoys a bumper card with the running of the Gr.1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge, the Gr.2 Tibouchina Stakes and the Gr.3 Cup Trial. Additionally, there are two Listed Races for two year olds and a host of competitive non-black type races that should attract racing fans to Greville on Saturday. The Rising Sun Gold Challenge is the second of the bonus races ensuring a minimum of 25 points to the winner. Whilst it looks to attract a small field, it will not lack in quality and racegoers will be treated to the return of DO IT AGAIN who seeks to avenge his SunMet defeat at the hands of the superb, RAINBOW BRIDGE. UNDERCOVER AGENT and SOQRAT are high class individuals in their own right making this the race of the season and one not to miss, so come racing!

CHARITY TURF CHALLENGE 2019 sponsored by TRACK & BALL
Whilst HAWWAAM is without peer in his generation, DO IT AGAIN oozed class when getting going late to land the Gr.1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge and take the second bonus point race and, in the process, set up a fascinating clash in the Vodacom Durban July on Saturday 6 July. CIRILLO showed great cruising speed to nearly pull off the upset and RAINBOW BRIDGE showed his wellbeing in running a somewhat unlucky third place.
Fans of the sport were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the regally bred Met winner, OH SUSANNA who showed guts to make all the running when landing the Gr.2 Tibouchina Stakes over a distance way too short for her. Three year olds, IN THE DANCE and SILENT CRUSADE got onto the leaderboard.
To cap a great weekend of racing, the Mike De Kock team pulled off a four-timer at Turffontein including taking top honours in the Gr.3 Jubilee Stakes with July hopeful, BARAHIN, who earned 9 points for his followers.
DRILL THEM 19 made a strong challenge on Gold Challenge day and now is joint leader with NEIL MOODLEY 6 on 227 points. RICK 1 also made a move and is a clear second on 225 points. The top ten is currently:
1 Drill Them 19 227
Neil Moodley 6 227
3 RICK 1 225
4 HATEYA 219
5 Shivi3ZN 21 218
Neil Moodley 10 218
7 Horse Care Unit Pix 19 216
8 Shivi3ZN 16 215
JBY 5 215
10 Kriti SEVLALL 213
In Memory of the late 213
Ashlen SEVLALL 1
Saych 2 213
ALFA 2 213
The Duke 004
This weekend is the turn of the sprinters again, highlighted by the running of the Gr.2 Post Merchants run at Greyville on Friday. BOLD RESPECT and KASIMIR, who makes his KZN debut, head the weights, both popular with entrants this year.
The winners of this weekend’s R500 betting vouchers kindly donated by TabGold are:

CHARITY TURF CHALLENGE 2019 sponsored by TRACK & BALL
This was a week for long shot bonuses after LA BELLA MIA and VALBONNE both paid over R15 on SAFTote and earned their supporters an extra 5 points. CHARITY TURF CHALLENGE 2019 sponsored by TRACK & BALL
ROY HAD ENOUGH showed his undoubted class when coming from last to get the better of CHARLES to win the new bonus race, the Track & Ball Gr.3 KZN Derby, earning 14 points for his supporters. DAWN ASSAULT stayed on gamely to take third place and showed his wellbeing ahead of the selections for the final field for the Vodacom Durban July.
In the fillies version, the Track & Ball Gr.3 KZN Oaks, SEVILLE ORANGE, turned around a length defeat by hot favourite, Blossom, in the Gr.1 Woolavington Stakes, when staying on strongly after leading from the jump. FLICHITY BY FARR returned to form to finish second ahead of Snapscan. NEXUS, KNIGHT’S TEMPLAR and GIFT FOR THE GAP were the only other point scorers this week.
Not much change to the top of the leader board with DRILL THEM 19 and NEIL MOODLEY 6 joint leaders on 227 points. BALLPOINT moved up to joint 11th on 213 points with the 5 points earned by CHARLES. The top twenty is currently:

So, with next weekend’s KZN Breeders raceday not worth much in the form of CTC points, it’s the turn of Kenilworth to provide point scoring opportunities with the highlight being the Gr.3 Winter Derby. Beyond which, we are counting down to the 2019 renewal of the Vodacom Durban July. Final fields for the July will be announced live on Tellytrack on Tuesday 25 June, the balance of the card the following day.

Hi ,
Seems somehow I got 1,2,3 in July with Front and Center/ Oh Susanna to come. Should be in with a shot at the stand alone at least.

CHARITY TURF CHALLENGE 2019 sponsored by TRACK & BALL
DO IT AGAIN confirmed his status as the best older horse in Africa with a stunning finish to land back to back Vodacom Durban July’s and boost his CTC tally to 50 points. RAINBOW BRIDGE and TWIST OF FATE did little wrong and continued their top class form in KZN. CELTIC SEA showed her brilliance when given a smart ride by HK bound Hewitson, confounding the strong Snaith challenge of OH SUSANNA and SNOWDANCE and in the process capping a top class day for Sean Tarry. The other point scorers on the day were: BASILIUS (1); THE DAZZLER (3); WALTER SMOOTHIE (9); DYNASTY’S BLOSSOM (5); STRATHDON (3); INFAMOUS FOX (2); VAN HALEN (1); PRICELESS RULER (1) and RUNNING BRAVE (1 in Joburg)
The intriguing entry HORSE CARE UNIT PIX 19 made it to the top of the leader board with a total of 285, putting 9 points between himself and the longstanding leaders, DRILL THEM 19 and NEIL MOODLEY 6. In the countdown to the Elan Gold Cup on 26 July, we will look at possible outcomes once the final fields have been declared. The top twenty two is currently:
1 Horse Care Unit Pix 19 285
