Race 1: Melandia must be the best bet on the card.
Race 2: Light On Her Toes, ran a cracker on the turf behind Mary O Reilly, classy filly, and is well overdue but Poly runs average 3l off the winner.Flame of Fire will be my first choice having 3RR and course suited.
Race 3: Hippie Trail is running over the perfect distance but seems to prefer turf. Must be included. Lyle gets aboard Rock Stardom and is my pick.
Race4: Shallcross should have the beating of Tubular Bell at weights but the poor draw won’t help, Whiteleaf Hills also drawn poorly, could get an upset result here.
Race 5: Lots to like about the good looking Jika but he is better over slightly shorter so will not banker, add Wish To Land and River Cam. River Cam tries the Poly and has gate speed, is well drawn and likes to race handy.
Race6: Let it Flow runs best races over this c/d, can follow up and win again. The consistent Studio Blues is sure to have a say and Romantic Crusade has Lyle aboard . Upset is Seattle Sound from a 1 draw.
Race 7: Humble Addict and Apoc , going just the two runners here.
Race 8: Wayne Agrella will suit Seattle Oak and can complete the hatrick .Horse Haizi returns to the Poly and is very game, should go close here. My real outsider here is Gottoluvher as she takes off late and there will be a good pace here.
Have an awesome punting day.

During my years at Bettingworld it was decided that my focus needed to be on retail nationally and I never had the time to present on Tellytrack. I am no longer with Bettingworld as I resigned in October last year, so am now available to present if and when so required. Always loved presenting on course and enjoyed it for the 15 years I did present. Still sick for racing and that won’t change.

TRAINER’S / JOCKEY’S COMMENTS

RACE 1 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

10 / 1 / 2 / 4

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1 and 5 - ARIKARA & SPORT CHIC : Arikara is always thereabouts. Sport Chic is knocking and she can place.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 2, 6 and 8 - DESERT WANDERER, STORYFIELDS & MONTREUX : Desert Wanderer was disappointing on Friday, she is better than that and she can finish in the money. Storyfields is working well so we are hoping for improvement. Montreux needed her last, should need this as well and is looking for further.

RACE 2 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

1 / 4 / 2 / 3

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2, 5, 6 and 10 - LIGHT ON HER TOES, SEATTLE MERMAID, NICOLE, DELIA’S DELIGHT & BERTINA : Light on her Toes has a winning chance. Seattle Mermaid enjoys track and trip, is in fair form and should be involved in the shake up. Nicole has place chance. Delia’s Delight would prefer further but working well and a place is not out of the question. Bertina could manage the back end of quartets.

JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 4 - FLAME OF FIRE : She ran a great race last time out and we will be disappointed if she doesn’t manage the first three.

RACE 3 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

4 / 6 / 2 / 5

TARA LAING - Number 2 - HITHER GREEN : She must have a good chance, she races over the right trip and is back to fillies only company.

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 4 and 6 - JALEIKA & HIPPIE TRAIL : Jaleika will appreciate a touch further, she has come on and has an each way chance. Likewise for Hippie Trail who is holding form well.

RACE 4 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

1 / 7 / 2 / 3

JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 1, 3 and 15 - MAHIR, TITUS & OMAHA TRIBE : Mahir ran an under par race on Friday and it was uncharacteristic, better is expected from him. Titus ran a good race in his last and a repeat is hoped for. Omaha Tribe must improve.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 7 and 14 - WHITELEAF HILL & RUSH IN : Whiteleaf Hills ran a good last but the draw is a concern. Rush In could manage the back ends of quartets.

RACE 5 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

4 / 2 / 1 / 7

GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 1 and 3 - BORDER CONTROL & PROSPECT STRIKE : Border Control is working very well and has an each way chance. Prospect Strike is on the unreliable side, he needs to run to his best form.

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 2 and 4 - JIKA & WISH TO LAND : Both horses are in good form and have a decent chance.

RACE 6 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

5 / 2 / 1 / 10

GRANT PADDOCK - Numbers 2 and 8 - LET IT FLOW & JOSIE : Let it Flow is working very well and has a chance again. Josie has been finishing well over the sprints, so we are trying further with her here.

SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 5, 10 and 11 - ROMANTIC CRUSADE, SEATTLE SOUND & AIM FOR THE STARS : Romantic Crusade won a cracker on local debut last time out. That actually was on the short side for her, so she will enjoy a bit more here and if the second run after the rest doesn’t catch her out, we are hoping that she can run another good race and follow up. Seattle Sound likes the Poly and is drawn well, this could be a touch short, but she is working very well. We are still learning about Aim for the Stars and just hope that she brings her track work to course.

RACE 7 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

8 / 1 / 6 / 9

SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 1, 5 and 11 - HUMBLE ADDICT, THE GOON SHOW & HANDRE THE HERO : Humble Addict is ultra consistent and we hope he can go one better. The Goon Show had excuses for his last. Hoping for improvement from Handre the Hero.

GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 2 and 6 - SHINE LIKE A STAR & EX NIHILO : Include Shine like a Star in quartets. Ex Nihilo is trying further and we do think he will enjoy it.

RACE 8 :

1ST FOUR SELECTIONS :

1 / 5 / 3 / 6

ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2, 4 and 8 - SEATTLE OAK, STOPTHINKINGOFME, OKLAHOMA SKY & SHEPARD’S DELIGHT : Seattle Oak’s big top weight is a concern, but she is a pacey and useful filly. Stopthinkingofme loves 1000m, she is down in class and back to girls only company so she can get involved. Oklahoma Sky always has the potential to find the frame. Shepard’s Delight can be erractic, she does have a chance if running to her best potential.

DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Numbers 5 and 11 - HORSE HAIZI & LADY LIVIA : Horse Haizi will run well. Lady Livia has her first PE and Poly run but she quite quick - the blinkers are off.

Bouvier was actually one of my better bets on the day. Katia is a promising sort hence I will be having an each way shout.
