Race 5 - Claremorris 10/1 e/w

Been consistent and enjoys this inside track. Price too big.

Race 6 - Rebel Renegade 2/1

Drawn 1 on this track is a huge advantage, don’t expect them to get near him today. Gate to tape I would think.

Race 8 - Shelly 11/2

Good efforts against much stronger opposition. Has MDK and Tarry horses to beat, not sure Hafla will enjoy inside track so at prices I’d be with this girl.

I'm at the track today for the CHARITY RACE DAY in the Aquanaught room. We have a table of 10 including Young Elvis ( Nicci ) who has not been racing since this same race 2 years ago.

ALL tips welcome guys / gals as we have a FEW Novices at our table... I really hope we start off the day with THE FIRST 2 X FAVOURITES WINNING.

good punting.

Enjoy :)

My take on the card ....

R1: Liberado the obvious one and on his last run can't be opposed on form - only worry for me is that the stable has been quiet of late; the danger imo is Pelican Bay who is improving steadily - on a line through The Lawyer he is clearly held by L but a place bet at better odds than L for a win, is worth considering; Proud Dynasty another who has run close enough behind some good ones (Rocket Countdown) in the Cape; steel shoes though probably means he is not quite ready yet - still not to be left out of trifectas and quartets imo

R2: As in the first, the favorite Deerupt looks the obvious one on her last run; only worry here is the break and that many of the stable's horses seemed to be needing that first run back; for me a big danger is Sun Up - 3rd start only for the 4 yr old (but only 6 months ahead being bred in the NH) and probably looking for this trip; there seems to be some money around for Miss Pinkerton, but I think the other two will be too good for her

R3: I think Mount Keith stands out here; well drawn and looking for this trip imo; if he fails many of the others can take advantage; best value imo is Play the Night, who is drawn in pole position, has come plummeting down the ratings and is a winner over 1200 at this track; Shortstop a 5x winner who looks well treated by the handicapper is another with place credentials at good odds; the rest (bar maybe Seventh of June and Crimson Magic) all hold some sort of chance

R4: Closely matched handicap; first choice for me is Quattro, who likes this track and looks overdue for his 5th win; Thewaywemakethem on their last meeting should be right alongside Q, but lacks consistency, so who knows; others to consider are Cumberland, Lone Survivor and Varimax

R5: Very competitive and Wallaby Wanabe looks the only one without a chance

R6: I do fancy Rebel Renegade here; should hold Singaswewin on exposed form; Queen of War tries the track for the first time, but Striker rides from a nice draw and could prove competitive; roughie to consider imo is Stark - has plummeted down the ratings and could run into the placings from a nice draw

R7: Obviously Noble Secret stand out, but the price is ridiculous imo; he is sure to be better over further and should need the run a bit; as such I think that Purple Diamond could make him run - has had one (very poor) since returning from KZN, so should be fitter than NS and was a very good juvenile; his penultimate run at Greyville was very good and could upset the hot-pot favorite; Orpheus a bit of a dark horse, but chance are he may need it after a long break

R8: Another tough handicap; Fragrant Miss on top form and should not miss the first 3; Hafla should be right next to FM on form, but a wide draw probably means that she will come from far back, which is not ideal the way the tracks have been running; of the others, if one can look past Tortola's last effort, she does look well in here with the allowance and has a nice draw to boot; only Miss Turbo (obviously had her problems) and Leopard Lily look to be without chances

R9: Open as well; Pachuco has not won for some time (but so have many of the others - 217 days since any of these have won  ), but has been fairly consistent, and always runs on over less ground; from a nice draw rates the one to beat imo (and the allowance won't hurt either); Patrick has run well this track and is another to consider along with Wildlife Safari (distance ?), Yer-Maan and Lock Him Up
