He can give AnS 2.5KG and AnS can keep the change :P

Also like ABASHIRI and with striker aboard, he will surely give him a good ride.

Remember in the july, favorites rarely win but ANS will be fly towards the end to clinch third or fourth (If only he started his run early)

Also do not forget J Lloyd likes running second so we can banker him for second in our quartets (Not the fairy tail ending)

Favorites seldom win the July's because it is usually wide open, however when you have favorites that are head and shoulders better than the rest of the field like London News and Dynasty they do bring home the bacon. I also usually look to beat the favorite in the July but just can't find anything to beat ANS. I do not believe Abashiri is the same horse as he was as a 3 year old and the July that year broke him. The JHB form is not in the same league as the Cape form.

Other than ANS last two runs he has very seldom been at the back of the field. He was obviously placed there as they felt if he were any closer he would have won by half the race course and be carrying 60 kg's and the rest of the field 53 kg's. :P

As memory serves Jeff Lloyd has never finished 2nd in the July but does have several 3rd's to his name.

No surprises in the weights - so the next milestone is this coming Monday when final declarations (at a cost of R32 500) fall due - will Coral Fever and Gold Standard run - many connections will be hoping they decline - as many runners that would be under sufferance should CF and GS run, would not be under sufferance should those two not run ....

But I'm with Shrek - no matter who runs, only thing that can beat ANS is bad luck in running ... if that does happen, I think Elusive Silver, Social Order (if he gets in) or Majestic Mambo (will also need luck in running as he will probably come from far back) can take advantage

Abashiri imo has a lot to do at the weights
