Late cancelled place bet ??

I am glad someone else posted about this Tnaicker. Someone is cancelling bets at the last minute to manipulate pools. You can see it clearly. In a normal environment this shit would be audited and the people responsible stopped and banned. It is obviously happening at a tote as this wasn't happening during lockdown.

I have screenshot the build up below, because I identified this as soon as I heard Lyle mention the place dividend in the studio as if it was the most normal thing in the world. You can clearly see someone hammered the guaranteed place horse, 5 Ninotto, and cancelled the places on 8 Ocean Drive South, to send that dividend sky rocketing.

Sometimes you can take advantage of these anomalies. A perfect example will be Singapore Race 10 where the Double Pool reached 12k. The two favorites double paid R45. Not manipulated pool but every double will pays was paying well with the 5 from Race 10.

Go to the Saftote Race summary and you will Singapore exotics is being commingled with PGI in recent weeks for Singapore hence strange dividends.

Never heard of the PGI announcement.

I have an audit background so eyes naturally / unwillingly get drawn to what doesn't seem right !! There are anomalies every single day and some-one is allowing late cancellations just before the off as well as, it seems, additional tickets AFTER the pools have closed...there was once a waffling answer as to the reason for the adjustment of the "Will pays" after the race but we are not so foolish as to believe it...

I am sure we have been there, done it and got the T shirts.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I witnessed the co mingling pools running after the off in SA. We have my feedback on the site when Margaret arranged visit.

We stopped allowing bets to be cancelled, a certain time and value before the off and some high profile lads were making money with this manipulation.

I am sure at the time Vee had this stopped or under control.

Maybe the new lads in charge have let the rules slip or unaware of what can take place ?

I have no idea who is in charge between ex employees, task teams, rescue practitioners etc

One of these YouTube videos via Its a Rush team documentaries to show the punters how it all works, would be extremely advantageous for the image of racing.

There is nothing illegal about this as long as they are playing by the rules.
Last I heard anything any bet above R499 has to get authorization from the manager.
Get 10 people each put R499 places on a horse then just before the start cancel 9 of them so you left with 499 places.
When someone sees a horse is paying less than your money back on the tote they won't back it and by the time it has changed,if you do it at the right time,it's too late to see what it has gone up to.
Then you check what the pool place is and bet accordingly with the bookies.
Example,if the place pool is R2000 it's no use putting 1000 places on a horse paying R10 a place as the bookies maximum dividend can't exceed the pool.So you put 100 places with however many bookmaker accounts you have and you got yourself a tidy profit with limited money as long as the horse places.
And obviously the pools can't be too big otherwise manipulation can't really be achieved without actually getting authorization before cancelling your bets.Ngong,Mauritius and Zimbabwe the ideal venues to do this as the pools small most times.

We must not forget the Open Bet plays a major part in these potential manipulations.

Try get your horse to pay a much better dividend on the tote by playing big then cancelling 90% of your bets just before the off then play that horse with an open bet with different bookmakers.

....also the only way to cancel bets these days is online and now with Covid restricting from operating from tote outlets these syndicates can operate with impunity from revived internet "cafe" type operations....have 10-20 okes with tote accounts working in sync and managed by a manipulator all boosting the pools while several others places open bets within limits with several bookie sites.....before the jump a mass cancellation of tote bets thus the open bet payout placed bets are catapulted to double and triple the normal payouts.....:whistle:

This cancellation of bets and pool manipulation is a long standing habit of certain individuals – I personally saw it happen at Randburg tattersalls in 1999 and complained about it to the tote manager at the tote in Loveday St.. Johannesburg. Although follow up was promised, nothing happened.
In 2006 2 programs were broadcast on tellycrap (within a few months of each other) where a certain individual was named as been a tote pool manipulator – he was only named, never shamed.
These are facts, and facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Another fact is tote rule 2.23.4:
Alteration of Bets - No bets may be altered after they have been accepted.
However, this rule is not strictly applied.
I have not used the tote since 1999 and anyone that complains about all these anomalies and poor service, and uses the tote – it is known as insanity.
