Oh ok the double sounds about right now if you went with the Australian betting but very far off if you went with our tote dividend of R99 winner in the 1st race.
How did that 1st race winner pay that much here seeing as it paid 6-90 on the Australian tote, that's what I really would like to know.

I wrote to them and asked for an explanation and they said they investigating and will get back to me,not holding my breath for an answer though.
The Tabgold oke is here on this forum yet he has never answered any of these sort of questions.

Has the tote gone back to 1 unit doubles?
Surely this double can't pay 90 cents.(supposed to be R2 unit now)
Race 5
Win 9 = R 1.80
Place 9 = R 1.40
Place 10 = R 2.00
Place 6 = R 7.40
Swinger 9/10 = R 1.90
Swinger 6/9 = R 9.80
Swinger 6/10 = R 26.90
Exacta 9/10 = R 7.70
Trifecta 9/10/6 = R 93.40
Quartet 9/10/6/2 = R 273.70
Double 4,7/9 = R 1.80

The Double situation has me really confused - it used to be a R1 unit (I believe with the usual R6 minimum bet applying) - so ....

If taking a Double 1 horse in Leg 1 by 1 Horse in Leg 2, you would need to take it 6 times because of the R6 minimum

If taking a Double 4 horses in Leg 1 by 2 Horses in Leg 2, it would cost R8 (4 *2) - one then could also take this bet 10 times (example) which would be a total cost of R80 - or perhaps taking fractional betting into account, one could choose to wager only R6 (the minimum bet) for a return of 75% (6/8) of the dividend declared (I have never tried to take a Fractional Double Bet)

The dividend declared was in relation to a R1 unit - so in the first case, your return would be 6 times whatever dividend was declared and in the second case, your return would be 10 times whatever dividend was declared - or perhaps in the case of a fractional bet as in the example above, your return would be 75% of the dividend declared ....

This is how I thought it always worked ?

Then at some stage, (I think) the dividend declared was said to reflect a R6 unit (not sure why or exactly when this started - perhaps when they stopped the 'rolling double' ?) - so in the first case, your return would be the same as the dividend declared (as you took the bet 6 times); in the second case, I assume the correct return would be calculated as the dividend declared plus 4/6 (or 2/3) of the dividend declared (as you took the bet 10 times) - if you took the bet 12 times, your return would be calculated at Twice the dividend returned - but I'm open to correction

Since the start of the week though, they have changed the unit again to a R2 unit - but I'm not sure if the dividend declared is in relation to a R1 unit or a R2 unit - I haven't caught one yet - so maybe somebody can clarify ?

Why on earth did they tinker with something that I thought worked pretty well ?

@ Frodo my understanding of the double at the moment is,

When they changed it to R6 a unit, every line would have cost you R6 so,

if you had a permutation of 2 by 2 = 4 (It would have cost you = 4 * R6 = R24)

Now that it is R2 the permutation of 2 by 2 suppose to cost R8.

What bamboozles me with the double dividends that if you back the horse singly and then wager all the winnings on the next you will win more with R2 a line. I dont know if the dividends is reflecting R1 a line or R2 a line.

Same now will apply for the Pick 3. A perm that should have costed R24 now will cost R48 due to R2 a line.
