Race 5: White Rose did not handle the lights last time and that run can be ignored. She is in a competitive handicap today, and we are hoping for a much improved run. Oh My Darling and Jet Start look the two best.
Race 7: Silvan Star’s preparation has gone perfectly for this race and she should enjoy the track with its long run in. She will run in the Jaffee colours today- I though it appropriate given their family connection to Empress Club. Nother Russia will be a tough nut to crack, but she had a hard race just two weeks ago, and one must question the pace of that race and hence her proximity to Legal Eagle. Cascapedia will need this run and further so I don’t think she is a threat. The Tarry fillies are all useful- Simply Royal is improving and can step up here; Safe Harbour has not quite regained her 3yo form, but is always a threat. There is not a lot between our mare and Gimme Six on past form, but I think we have the edge on her. The two 3yos are not the best of their generation, but either could show enough improvement to earn a cheque.
All in all a really top class race and I’m happy to have a competitive runner. Will be at Turffontein to cheer her on.

Nice racing - for me the best value at current odds is Delphine in the 3rd - much better drawn this time and I think will turn the tables on Hafla - and the colts look beatable imo
If Nother Russia runs to her best, she will win, but I also have a little bit of doubt whether that run to Legal Eagle has taken the edge off - obviously not a lot between her, Silvan Star and Gimme Six , while the 3yr old Folk Dance can surprise
Enjoy
