Would like to see Snowdance supplemented, she`s already worth a mint in the paddocks and nae one cares about FM Grade 1 races

Can’t agree with you- big question mark over her stamina on breeding. For breeders, F&m grade 1s are very important.
The surprise for me is that she is not trying the Paddock Stakes. It may be stretching her over 1800m but her class should see her through.

I didn't back Last Winter @ 16/1 as I wanted to see yesterday's race. He's still learning how to race. Keep in mind that was just his fifth start - only his second on a left handed track. Delpech, while he could have won, didn't punish the horse and I believe he will only improve for that.
Now the Question - do they go the Peninsula then the Met or straight to the Met? Might be better to give him one more run as he needs more racing under his belt but then he's not used to racing 3 times in a month or so.
Took 8/1 and 7/1 Last Winter now - Got African Night Sky @ 14/1 and Marinaresco will probably be my last bet on the race.

Hi Peter, sorry for appearing disrespectful
Just feel the Met looks more like a “Victory Moon” than a Met this year and can do with some added spice (Especially if Edict is scratched)

legal eagle will not be in the MET and I hope Edict of Nantes stay with Crawford (rumours that it has been sold to Hong Kong connections). If in the MET EoN will be the horse to beat...end of story

Why will Legal Eagle not be in the Met?
Why would they spend millions then not run in the one race where they can get it back?

I am very surprised at the current Met ante post prices since it re-opened.
Legal Eagle favourite is fair enough, even though he is best over 1600m.
Much as I am in the camp of Last Winter as his breeder, and he is clearly still on the upgrade, I can’t see how he can be second favourite ahead of proven Gr1 performers like Marinaresco and Captain America. Marinaresco in particular looks very good value at 9/1. African Night Sky also looks too short priced.
My short list for the Met at this stage is:
Marinaresco
Legal Eagle
Gold Standard
Captain America
Last Winter

I can't have Marinaresco (yes I said it in the July as well  ) at this stage as his performances in the last Cape season was not great - so for me he needs to run very well in the LQP to show that he can perform at his best in the Cape
Legal Eagle (and I also can't see why he would not run) at WFA should start at odds-on (unless he fluffs his lines badly in the LQP).
I agree with PeterD that Last Winter has not really beaten anything of note (but I also said that about Whiskey B last year  ) and at WFA has a tough task imo
Captain America probably thereabouts again, but the big value at current prices is Sail South (showed in the Champions Cup that the 2000 of the Met should not be an issue) and he has beaten CA twice in the last 3 times they met (and I'm willing to forgive him his slightly below par effort in the Green Point as he may have suffered from the dreaded '2nd run after a break') - so I think he will be in the first 3
Gold Standard as a younger horse has shown that he has the class, not a bad run in the Green Point and could be the one that troubles LE most if he is still the same horse - will watch him closely in the LQP.
So at this stage my first four ....
Legal Eagle
Gold Standard
Sail South
Captain America

He has not proved himself as yet I think he is big runner for the coming Cape seasonFrodo wrote: I can't have Marinaresco (yes I said it in the July as well  ) at this stage as his performances in the last Cape season was not great - so for me he needs to run very well in the LQP to show that he can perform at his best in the Cape
