GM all --- wonder if we will race on turf or poly? Looks a difficult card in the early races again!

Since being on leave I have made myself guilty of the punters curse - "backing too often" - fortunately I have survived and come out on top long enough to readjust and try to get some discipline back. Let's see what today offers ---

With all the rain we've had I see tabgold still reporting the track good this morning. pen 23

Weather @08h00 Cloudy 49% chance of rain, 24degs, S/E Tailwind, 15-20Km/h
Rainfall Last 24 Hours 20mm
Rainfall Last 7 Days 59mm
Irrigation Last 24 Hours Nil
Irrigation Last 7 Days Nil
Penetrometer Reading 23
Track Condition Good
False Rail 6m

That first race looks to be avoided at all costs --- Shendeagan is fancied over it's stable companion, while imo in nine runs having done nothing to suggest it's any better , the only reason could be Georgina's appalling form of late , after quite an impressive start.

Thanks to the new regulations on notification about shoes -- putting the straight bar wedge shoes into context with the 136 day layoff wouldn't make me very confident on Marcus ride -- although it does look capable of improvement, and the shoes should hold the hoof together nicely -- those shoes must be one grade above therapeutic. - Everything possible is being done to get this one home - Tongue Tie on, Shoes, etc.

But the real issue here is that no matter what you back it represents a wager against the latent potential that Georgina has demonstrated. in her first five runs - while so poorly out of form, this tends to creep up and bite when least expected - since it's hard to back something that has taken 8 runs to even start showing some signs of recovery

One interesting factor around pretzel baby is that the breeders retain ownership and race her. AP Answer a fantastic pedigree with every major racehorse in history represented there - sadly died recently.

I am not usually as fond of a first time blinker strike as for the 2nd run with blinkers --- not being able to see what's going on behind, can make a horse quite anxious if not frightened,, until it gets used to it. In nature the wide peripheral vision of a horse is a crucial survival element in identifying threats from the environment - blinkers hinder that. While the horse can be acclimatized, it's a totally different scenario in a field of 13 thoroughbreds thundering around a race track.

Mutawaary - withdrawn , insufficient time for recovery - we likely to see this one over shorter in the next races.

Kinsky's Crusade has good cruising speed so the drop to 1000m and blinkers could suit today. Has some form and field fairly weak.
