I'm almost 40 but during my time, Salzman & Ratner, Hilda Podlas, I M Patel and Van Vuuren all left due to various reasons after big investment's. Someone always come along and racing continues.

This is a very sad day for many, David Shapiro on 702 says its the worst news in 46 years as a trader. May all those effected in and outside of racing get through this. It sounds very serious and listening to all the interviews etc , a very touchy subject.

To add on what he said, they going to be a few grumpy old men in Stellenbosch.

I agree with Louis.....guilty or not I don't judge either way. All I can say from his early days with Laird to now he was graced and changed this game with amazing animals etc.

What I can say is that thousands have lost "big sums" as a result. And I hope he stepped down not because he is guilty but clearing the way for a clean investigation that would need no possibility for interruption.

Imagine if shares are snapped up at this price and key figures are grey or clean after the investigation......billionaires become trillionares over night as shares rebound. That circle of friends must have some tom in reserve for such a chess move

I'm clueless about all of this but find it funny that this has started a little while after Gigaba done an investigation or audit into the PIC when looking for funds for SAA, any how a nice diversion for the Gupta camp and plenty jobs gone and the poor are the ones going to suffer the most

RS. I read that letter quite a few times!! Seems very strange to me that such a Prominent and educated CEO would start off by saying "Hi There ", .The letter does not flow correctly and I think most of the terminology isn't that of his level.

I may be wrong but would be very surprised if it was all his work. Maybe he was under extreme pressure or just signed anyway. :(

On 702, they say it is possible it could be fake news. Only possible, doesnt mean it is.

....not a matter of guilt and blame....simple there is no hamster in the wheel to provide the juice....give up your job and you cant pay for the luxuries in life without burning through your savings(if there are any)....1st thing you give up is your expensive hobbies so you can keep the wolf from the door....when you earn big money you burn big money....no income ...deep sh!t only outcome.... :S

louisg wrote: Racing without MJ will be poorer. Much poorer.

However, who says that MJ will pull out of Racing Anyway? Except of course for the people who hate the man without even knowing him and who have gleefully already found him guilty.

I do not know the facts and have no idea about how the financial World works. All I know is that if MJ does leave racing it will be bad for us all.

Perhaps you should get the facts before commenting louisg. Google Markus Jooste Steinhoff fraud, it's all there. You cant be owning luxuries like horses when you in a jail cell.
