Here's what will attract an even bigger crowd on the day.
A race, Bolt from 110m out, and a horse from the 1000m mark, one down the inside rail and the other up the outside rail.
Say after the 2nd or 3rd race, the course will be full to the rafters before the P6 kicks off :woohoo:

Bayern, this won't just local interest going....imagine the international interest
Didn't Oscar do something similar some time back?

There's a huge financial spin-off for the turf club. Burn a few thousand dvd's, send one to Easy, it may convince him to buy a dvd player

I have seen it work before - a room full of non punters and with the correct help from the operator turnover was up drastically on both days I was involved - Not to say that addicts or regular punters were created but the bottom line was up on the day drastically and people left with a good experience of Racing and knew how to take simple bets if they ever wanted to do so in the future.
----and that is why we're working having 'betting buddies' team up with 'racing buddies'.
Betting buddies help take the bet, and racing buddies help explain a little about how to read form etc.

Imo, a race day should be about horses, so how about getting some of the stud farms to parade their resident stallions - would be much cheaper than the other 'glamour' options
Bolt has 18 million followers on Facebook
Mi Casa 700k
Racing It's a Rush - 22k
so you can see why any marketer would try to use these 2 when RTR has less followers on FB than people that attend the July
Wayde Van Niekerk has 55k
There is more chance that Joe Public would go to the Met/Summer Cup to see any of these people than a race with Black Caviar, Horse Chestnut, Frankel and Winx - Reality is that we race fans are a tiny minority and our product has little interest for the public unless it is dressed up as a social event with the racing as window dressing
You said it! RIAR is trying to tap into this stream, and with success. It's a slow process but seems to be reaping reward and relieved to be able to say retaining followers 30k and growing as well as broadcast to platforms and links that have thousands and millions of followers.
Step one is awareness, and how can the follower connect and engage.
Along with this, deliver a soft approach in terms of education about the sport on - 1. the horse breed 2. owning 3. training the equine athlete 4. the arena of racing and the adrenaline
We want people to enjoy the spectacle of racing but also respect the animal and what goes into the whole operation of the sport as a whole. We want them to understand the difference between a maiden with beginner runners and the excellence of the MET, flagship races. We want them to understand WFA, Handicap, Conditions. We want them to respect the rarity of a Pocket Power. But without getting bored and it feeling like a detention class.
Hence RIAR = Racing. It'sARush and the logo is an ampersand. Racing AND...ie fashion, food, event, peer group. It's getting the delivery right - of the event, and getting them to understand and follow the sport, the mind game. Before embarking on betting even.
Still a long way to go. :silly:

precisely Bayern, thanks =- yes RIAR recently did a slide tweet about Wayde van Niekerk - have you seen it? no doubt some interesting comparisons can be drawn with Mr Bolt!

Surely Wayde Van Niekerk would have been a better option or couldn't they afford him ?
