About 80% of Phumelela's earnings is generated internationally, by selling the broadcasting rights of SA racing to those countrys. So local racing is still the main product.

Absolutely spot on Lionel which is why it is surprising that so little is done to ensure better returns from local operations. Basically P does really well from racing's overall returns and as such should benefit tremendously from more profitable local conditions.
Cannot fathom why subsidisation is preferred to a self sustained existence.

William Hills show SA racing in there shops.If you punt a pound or more on your on line account you get access to watch the race. On a Saturday morning/lunch time ATR show SA racing.
