Five-time South African champion jockey Mark Khan has been granted a jockey’s licence again and will ride at Turffontein on 24 August.

Khan has been out for quite some time through injury but has still been active on the racing front. He has regularly been seen at the tracks and it will be great to have someone of his calibre back at the forefront of South African racing.

Couple of years ago at Greyville I remember Mark Khan and Striker involved in an incident in the Lonsdale Stirrup Cup where one of them whipped the other during the race or just after the line. In the end none of them ended up winning the race as The Badger won with Jeff Llyod. I think the horses that they rode were Superwood and The Eiger Sanction.

yeah Naresh. i remember that race clearly in greyville. if im not mistaken they where first and second favorates

and the Yard arm / Wolf whistle finish in the summer cup
