Your jackpot legs cost R400 and would have returned R8k. When you do this for real, you should consider also taking the JPot

Dutching is backing more than one horse in a race to make an equal amount of profit if any of your selections win. You still can lose though as if you back six horses in a ten horse field the other four you omitted can win. Also note betting percentages and the odds of your selections are very important.

One takes several bets on several respective runners in the same race but with the difference that the profit is the same no matter what the result is.
This is only assuming that there cannot be any other result which is not in your selection. In reality this is impossible as the bookies round the total of their books to a probability over 100% so there is always at least one or several runners which cannot be dutched.
However, if you are brave, you can brass, say, the favourite and dutch the rest of the field. This is what the legendary "Ductch" Schultz did in the USA in the 30's. He hired an accountant who was very good and quick with numbers, got to "fix" the favourite and "dutched" the rest of the field. He made the same profit per race irrespective what the the result was. It was also easier for Schultz to this in the 30's because betting taxes were not around then. Today one will be compelled to eliminate one more or several more runners from the dutching basis.
Short of explaining the arithmetic calculating your bet size respective to your runners' odds you can find dutching calculators on the web. www.oddschecker.com/betting-tools/dutching-calculator
Hope this helps.

Just to add
Lucky's P6 today outlay was R100. He was standing with four horses with 2% with minimum win of R3600 to R14000 .
The other six horses in the betting at that time when I worked it out to dutch was around these prices which he never have
4/1
12.5/1
12.5/1
25/1
25/1
66/1
So of you wagered altogether R1500 on the dutching you would have made R1900 profit less the R100 P6 perm = R1800 profit. What I normally do is wager alittle more on the outsiders for a bigger return if the longshot wins if I am standing in the Jackpot or P6 although equal profit scenario becomes slightly skewed.

One last thing on the dutching. If you have a good relationship with your bookie you can ask him to give you one consolidated price on all of your spread of fancies - you obviously profit the same regardless what wins within the dutch. It is not difficult to calculate this price but, unfortunately, the clerks employed with most of the corporate bookies have not been given a mandate to grant you this consolidated price.
