In the 80's when i was a much younger and braver punter, i won the Pick 6 with 4 Bankers
Not sure if it was Kenilworth or Milnerton
Structured like this

1st leg 20 horse field 4 runners,I had 1rst, 2nd,3rd and 4th, good prices 16/1 ran 2nd, 20/1 ran 3rd
Felix Coetzee won on 8/10 for Millard
2nd leg Fav won ...I bankered
3rd leg 2nd fav won...Bankered It
4th leg 7/2 won...bankerd it
5th leg fav won...bankered this one too
6th leg i had 3 horses Karl Neisius won on 9/2 shot

Pick 6 cost 50c a line
My full perm cost R 6.00

I can still remember it paid R612
The confidence and bravery of youth is priceless
If i can just get some of the bravado back

Racing in Durban today, I was there on Sunday. My five year old wanted to go to the play areas at Hillcrest Spur and Lucky Bean. So superdad took her there:-) On the way to Lucky Bean I saw a turnoff sign for Summerveld, is that the same Summerveld that does the breeding. I just wondered...Anyone here know? Ok, so the computer selections crashed and burned yesterday, but what I love about racing is that there is always another day with another chance. Thanks to PeterD for posting your selections, your choices are giving the computer's ones a good hiding and you nearly picked another pick six in short time. Please keep posting yours. If any of you want to post your pick six selections here, please do so. You might get bragging rights if you pick a good one like PeterD did the other day. Ok, here goes, pick six #2 out of 30 Greyville 16/8/2017...

Race 3 (Leg 1) 1,7,12
Race 4 (Leg 2) 3,6,7,8,9
Race 5 (Leg 3) 2,3,4,7
Race 6 (Leg 4) 1,2,3,4,8
Race 7 (Leg 5) 3,4,5,8
Race 8 (Leg 6) 1,2,3,5

Cost 4800
% on R100 Bet 2.083333333

Summerveld is the training establishment- there is a nice clubhouse which serves a value breakfast, and most of the Kzn trainers are there.

Todays card does not inspire me- the pick 6 looks very hard, with a competitive maiden followed by 5 handicaps, so I'll skip today.

Your perm has approx 4% chance of winning due to the very open nature of all the races

Agree with PeterD that the P6 looks almost impossible - one that does not seem to feature in too many perms that I would definitely include is Miss Varlicious in leg 2- has won over the trip and ran 5.3 lengths behind Carry on Alice at level weights - better off at the weights with both Mr Roy and Over Sure

Hi , lucky will take one with you , will try to do it daily
Strategy:
. Trying to have 5 per leg
Include all 6/1 and under in race , and add until 5 selections .
So perm cost 15625 and will go 1% R156 . Let's see how it goes. Will try do it everyday to see where it gets me.

Greyville
1_12_2_7 I'm adding 3
6_10 I'm adding 8_9_3
3_4_5_7 I'm adding 2
8_2_5_6_4
4_1_5 I'm adding 3_2
2_7_5_3 I'm adding 1

i seldom punt or send or a p6 these days,bt back in the day i caught quite a few by structuring them according to which course they run at.Like todays Greyville polytrack is predominantly a favs track and the card looks straightfoeward bar the last race. Tracks like Vaal and fairview u might want to think abt increasing your perm 10fold as those tracks we all know carryovers are the norm. Most upsets happen in low filly handicaps so load up(take field in those) A banker is a must aswell

If that's true, I will need more than a 25/1 payout on average with a 4% chance to make it an overlay. So hopefully I'll get more than R2500 back with my R100 bet should it come in.
