Always look forward to Scottsville Sprint Day. With the big fields and really open betting, you can find some nice value - not a day to go big on any particular horse tomorrow I think but there is some top sorts running at good prices. Such is the nature that you can afford to pick two horses in most races and still come out with a healthy profit.
Race 5 - Call To Account 6/1, Light on Her Toes 18/1
Call to Account made a nice track debut where she took on the colts. Should have come on from that and sets the form standard having beaten Dutch Phillip in the Cape. I think Dutch Phillip is the 2nd best 2yo we've seen thus far and that's strong form. 1200 shouldn't be a problem if ridden more conservatively this time. Should have a fair chance here.
Light on Her Toes won a nice race LTO. Form of that race has been working out well. While she may be better over further(maybe one for July day also), she could pop up here. Has track form where she was really unlucky not to win.
others to consider are Green Plains - really smart filly. If she travels well and takes to the course, she's the horse to beat. Neptune's Rain must go in - highly rated by the Howells Stable. And Gold Image and Princess Peach can't be left out as both may have needed their runs.
Race 6 - Sand and Sea 7/1
So green on debut and managed to beat winners. Al Mariachi has some good Cape Form so isn't a slouch so it was a good effort. He'll come on from that and we'll see how good he is. The race may just come too soon for him. He's only had 1 run compared to Naafer's 3 so that may be the concern but he seems loaded with ability.
Naafer I think will be hard to beat. Ran 2nd behind the machine LTO and should take a liking to Scottsville. 16/10-ish was just a bit short for me.
Race 7 - Live Life 5/1, Just Sensual 6/1
Live Life's beaten COA before however is now out at the weights but she's still improving. What really impressed me was the win over Always in Charge - that was a cracker and showed how good she is. I'm hoping she needed the run last time and will be at her peak here. If she's brings her best form here, she should run well.
Just Sensual tries the sprints. Blinkers might work either way but she has so much of natural speed that she shouldn't find herself too far out of ground coming into the business end. If she's near the pace, she can find that burst and go close.
In saying that, if Alice brings her A-game then she'll win but she ran 5th in this last year and the Computaform Sprint may take it's toll.
Race 8 - Attenborough 11/2, London Call 12/1
Very impressed by Attenborough's last win. Seems the gelding has improved him. Better when ridden cold, the 1200m should be ideal. Hoping the speed's hot upfront and he can run them down. Is out at the weights with a few so will still need to up his game but being a 3yo, should be more than capable.
London Call is such a honest, game sort. Has a love affair with the c&d. When he's fit and well, he never seems to run a bad race. He should put a bold showing from a great draw. Goes for 5 in a row.
Can't not mention Sergeant Hardy. Another top, top sprinter. Carries a heavy weight but is never one you can write off. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go close with the weight turnaround with London Call. Others that should fight out the finish and should be included are Brutal Force, Search Party and Bull Valley. should be a cracker of a race

Does anyone know if there will be another panel discussion for this meeting? Or should we just wait for under starter's order?

Welcome Shorthead

I'm no expert, but your chance is as good as any. Also, you can check out what some of the other clanners fancy on the thread titled, "Buy In Competition Selections - Leg 1 Scottsville".
Enjoy and good luck
