Automatic entry for winning any of this seasons

The L’Ormarins Queens Plate
The SunMet
The Investec Cape Derby
The SA Classic
The SA Fillies Classic
The SA Derby
Premier’s Champions Challenge
Daily News 2000
Woolavington 2000
Rising Sun Gold Challenge

Winners of the following races in the current season will enjoy preferential consideration for inclusion in the final field:-
Sansui Summer Cup (Gr 1)
Betting World 1900 (Gr 2)
Cup Trial (Gr 3)
Jubilee Handicap (Gr 3)
raf sheik firstly says that horses have to compete further than a mile in order to get entry into the july but then contradicts himself by saying that if you win the queens plate or rising gold challenge BOTH RACES OVER A MILE YOU GET AUTOMATIC ENTRY INTO THE JULY ..go fcuking figure that one out for me

To those who think this log is so accurate lets isolate snaiths horses it has bela bela first then krambambuli second now if you went to mr snaith and asked him where he would rate krambambuli as one of his july contenders do you really think he would rate him ahead of elusive silva black arthur its my turn ?

Legal Eagle may as well be entered

Imo he would be running against the same old and some average 3yo's

Would have been very interesting to see if william longsword was entered into the july and not been put on the log because he is untested over further than a mile but is a cape guineas group one winner..would the punting public rather have him in the race or some of the old die hards?

I would rather have him in, but imo he does not stay the 2200m....but more exciting if he was in compared to the same old same old

the same was said about in full flight and royal chalice who never ventured beyond a mile before winning the rothmans but i agree better for all to have him in

Its a pity a horse like Gold Standard isnt in the field. I reckon would have been a massive runner.

Will one local win be enough to get in?

I think Mr Azzie is a little bit between a rock and a hard place - that's if he is keen to run him - his rating currently is high enough to get him in, but currently will have to give his fellow 3 yr olds 3.5 kgs - I suppose he needs to show he gets the trip to get on the log- but the trick could be to do just enough to make it onto the log but still lose a few points

Thanks Frodo

And I agree with Mr H in that this list is top-heavy in favor of the 3yr olds .... anyway I suppose that's the way it is and I suspect that there will be a few disappointed owners of older horses come final acceptance ...

I think it needs to be top heavy with the 3 yr olds simply because some of them will only be coming to hand late in the season while the older horses really will have had a full season or more to prove their worth.

I would love to see a 2200m barrier trial type race for the marginals . No prize money , only open to July entrants , handicapped as if for the July , and the first 2 finishers get in the field with their acceptance fees for free.

Interesting idea, pity no one with any influence is normally open to new ideas.

he is currently rated a 115 so would have gone into the july a net 111 with the next 3yos colts heavenly blue and al sahem off net 102 ..gold would have had to carry either 57 or 57.5 so it would have been a very hard ask ..he got a 7 pound pen for his brilliant effort in the met where he raced off 52kg

3yr olds don't carry 57 or 57.5 in the July, unless the highest MR horse is withdrawn after weights are announced.

i suggest you go read the conditions of the race then work out who will be top weight either captain usa or marinaresco then deduct the wfa for the 3yos come the first of july and then look back at the conditions to see the max weight for a 3yo colt
