My early seletions:

Race 1: Rings and Things. Should win here.

Race: 5: One Direction: Can be relied on to run a place.

R6: Cardinal Call: Should win.

R8: Mark's Glory: Good each way runner.

Will be taking those in an ALL TO COME. I have shied away from the Nel yard, in spite of their good record with first-timers thus far. Strong SSE wind at 46 knots should make life difficult tomorrow. Think Hassan Adams has good runners on the card.

There appears to be sufficient form in maiden races 2/3/4/8 to have a crack

Sister Soozie in the 4th. The saving grace is that the next three or four in the betting are relatively poorly draw as well. Sister Soozie was slow away from a poor draw on debut, but finished well over 1400m, she should appreciate the extra 200m.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Hi Guys,

Kenilworth today with strong winds expected

Best Bets

Race 2: Dalibhunga(5) 18-10 (I dont normally tip first timers, but the breeding is from a sprinting sire and a very useful mare + the in form domeyer/Nel combination + the record of his 2 year olds. I watched the replay of Prince Alfred and the 3rd & 4th horses were catching and they did not improve next time out.)

Race 4: Elegancia(1) 7-2 (Well well Its Complicated formline again, where Elagancia improved to run 2nd last run. Sister Soozie ran behind Bushy Park which in turn ran behind Margylle(Elusive Touch formline) which i dont think is strong hence the selection. Margylle(3) will place so take good swg and exa with the top selection)

Race 7: Trip To India(1) 4-1 (This horse was taken out the race last 50m by a horse called Kwando. Dont think he would have won but would have run 2nd. Love To Boogie is highly talented so this horse is a BIB BIG RUNNER!!!!! Captain's Dove(2) will be involved so swg/exa is the way to go. MY BEST BET OF THE DAY at a great price. Keep an eye for Elusive Stars(11) for places

Race 8: River Cam(13) 18-10 (There will be a lot of speed in this race which Trojan Quest will set. This will play in the hands of my selection. He is drawn wide but will run on from the back due to the fast pace that will be set.He will enjoy this extra 200m which he is bred actually for much longer. Mark's Glory(3) has blinkers on for the first time so will settle a bit and he is the main danger. Juddernaut(12) will improve along with Two Brothers(14).

Value Bets

Race 3: Of The Moon(2) 11-2 (Look at the Its Complicated formline. 3 winners have come out from that which OTM was in front of them on her 2nd run. She was striding short last run so ignore. Only concern is the inside draw on the straight where they have been crossing over to the outside lately)

Race 5: Prince Of Eden(5) 5-1 (He is dropping in the ratings lately and still been running on. Has beaten Royal Ginger, Friendly Tibbs & Saint Roch which in turn has beaten Gimme One Night. That leaves just One Direction in the betting who is a 3 year old with a poorish draw. Major Jay will be involved so that would be my swg/exa with selection)

Race 6: Rebel's Idol(2) 7-1 (He ran behind Indigo Storm which in turn was in front of Shizam. Cardinal Call ran behind Shizam 2 runs back. So formline suggests that RI is a runner and I think he is a BIG RUNNER especially with the 4kg claim. Favourite Kingston Passage wont run a place as far as i am concerned. Cardinal Call(3) will be involved)

EXOTICS

P6

1,2,3,4,10,11,12,14 x 1 x 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 x 1,2,3,5,6 x 1 x 3,13 R720

JP 1

1 x 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 x 1,2,3,5,6 x 1,2,4,6,7,8,9,11 R360

JP 2

1,3,12 x 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 x 1,2,3,5,6 x 1 (x2) R270

Bi-Pot

7,10 x 5,7 x 2,3 x 1 x 5,6,10 x 2,3 (x5) R240

Good Racing

R2 Stellarstone Seventh Rock (AUS) - Charmed by Jallad (USA)

Contrary to my previous post this race is skinny on tested form and the obvious race to look at would be the favourite's second to Kingston Passage with Finn's Rebel behind by 2,8

Big Chief finished 2,4 behind the fav and who i discovered trailed Stellarstone by 4 behind Ramsden's Aviemore albeit that was over 1200 at Durbanville

There are other correlations but i prefer saving you the ordeal

Stellarstone ran last in subsequent starts and was reported to be making abnormal respiratory noises after his last run.He comes off a 69 day break and needless to say a remedy must have been sought

Im by no means making this a good thing but lets see what the comments are on the first timers and also when i did a bit of work on this race yesterday (had not make the observation yet) i also felt unconvinced that its a one horse race barring the new comers

Hi Fafi

Hoep you are right....I have a small share in Stellarstone along with Peter D. He has been disappointing so say the least, even by the trainers admission. Breet says he has strengthened up, looking better and is showing speed. Hopefully he shows improvement.

Obvious claims and should improve... had clear passage up the outside that day.... interesting runner in that race is Gypsy Beauty who raced wide and found traffic problems over the final 400m. She flew up late and today has a draw ... Sw with S Soozie can't hurt and e/w and straight place value at 14/1(w) and 3/1(p)

Looking at the 2nd race i have to choose between the Nel 1st timer(well bred) and the fav.Maybe someone knows if the 1st timer is fancied and trying to win.I can't see anything else beating the fav except this 1st timer.need to back an early winner.
