Being a big day all the bs is at least out of the way and we can assume that everyone is a trier. Why worry about anyone's opinion when the form is there to be analysed.

There is no substitute for hard work when studying form and I for one prefer my own selections, whether they arrive or not.

Agree with the comment from Garrick that big race days are very tough on the punter and should be factored into how much we are willing to spend.

Many great tipsters here on ABC but have never seen one that is always right.

Why crucify Bloomberg because he get it wrong sometimes
The majority of us gets it wrong most of the time
I really think it is selfish as in future he may refuse to give his views
And those of us that respect those views will be deprived of it
While i respect his views/opinions it does not mean i use it as gospel, but he do know what he's talking about and it helps comparing his against mine
I have always believed that more opinions is the best way to come to conclusions

And as Bob said, lets keep this a horseracing site

Thanks Johnny and others, looks like I'm needing to get stricter with my moderation again

I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't

Grrrr

I enjoy Bloomberg and Maree's analysis of a race. I don't always agree with their selections but they do offer insights that aren't always obvious.

darryl maree is top class and is totally underused by the operators...i would also use p de beyer who has a superb understanding and grasp of the game from all angles..the problem with so called tipping is you do not know in advance the following important factors such as the conditions on the day for example direction of wind, the going whether good firm or yielding and where the draw bias is like on sat at the met it was middle to inside and the outside draws were dead..and for me the most important unknown days before the event is how the horse looks in the ring and how they go down to the start a factor which many on here think its a lot of crap well good luck to you..the best two going to the start in the met were the first two home and marinaresco was like he was on queens plate day full of himself ...i would rather take a shorter price after seeing all these things that i have mentioned than dive into antepost betting markets and you will get better prices mind you because the bookies are looking to lay closer to racetime and they bet to way better percentages ...

just to add regarding the conditions it was clear to see at greyville saturday on the polytrack that if you werent up there or in front you had no chance of winning now how would you know that if you were tipping for this meeting in advance ..

To reinforce Pirates point ......on the night ,jockey Fourie thought that the outside would be the choice of passage for the day and this influenced the sprint tipping ......as it turned out ,the outside draws were never in it!
Nobody's fault!!!!

Was speaking to the connections of Seargeant Hardy and the draw is the only explanation of the poor run( placed horses couldn't get near on form )

I'll add my 2 cents - while imo it is not unfair to point out that someone got something wrong, I get the impression that there is some sort of malice here

And as many have said, everyone has an off day (or 2 if you are Magi B) ); I think what is also maybe rubbing some people up the wrong way, is the absolute conviction that RB showed when the talked (and Daryll is pretty much the same) - now even if wrong I personally much prefer it that way than the mmm's and aaaa's of many of the other 'analysts' that grace the TT screens on most days

i cant understand what all the fuss is about.the man gave his opinions and selections on a panel and some of his selections did not win,so what.there were other tipsters and some of them were right and some were wrong.no need to have a go at the tipsters on here because they didn't force the punters to follow there tips.

i think the racing was fair and the punters had a chance of winning.its not like it was a bloodbath like on most july days,3rd fav won the met, original fav won the majorca, fav won cts mile, frankie on 2nd fav won the derby 4th fav won cts sprint so how can the punters complain when they had a fair chance at backing a few winners.

I am pretty sure everyone that knows Robert doesnt respect his opinions less after yesterday.

Give the man a bells !

Has Tellytrack ever tipped a horse that isn't favourite?

They could have saved this panel for the on course experts.

Oh wait, they just tipped a second favourite in the sprint. WOW!"
