....in my area I see many recent closures of several betting establishments.....Betting World Rosebank....TAB outlet Kramerville.....bookie/tote in Buccleuch.....Midrand no totes...Larry in Rivonia hardly opens daily....so where is the man in the street that big P was targeting gonna go to have a R20 bet.....

....has their strategy changed.....are the online punters taking up the slack.....

.....this is not the UK....our betting masses are the still disadvantaged small punters....mainly drivers, messengers, laborer's that go to these places because they like to bet and hang out with fellow racing people...

Was going pass Cleveland the other day and passed a bookmaker outlet. You did not have to enter the outlet to wager a bet, they had tellers facing the walkway on the street from their premises

I guess P are happy with Supabets.

P would need to fix up many of their outlets but seem oblivious to the need to do that. Sure someone said betting lounge in Randburg also closed. Not sure if Bull Ring in Northcliff still going? Muhti it would seem bookies cashing in on soccer betting and horse racing is just hanging in. Do WSB have outlets all over or where is the main outlet?

They are now a "numbers "shop. They have 30+ cashiers!. Only bet on soccer, lotto etc. Apparently a draw for numbers every few minutes. They have moved to Tembisa.....

U Bet Sports Tembisa (Pty) Ltd ............

Denton has been a bookie for over 40 tears and I think he saw the writing on the wall........ ;)

.....good for Denton.....bad for racing....yes those that see where the money is... are going there....but what is the operator doing to at least get a bit of the pie.....closing down betting outlets and showing the masses a way to the open bet and other forms of gaming is not going to solve where racing is going..... :S

In Benoni there is a Tab in the middle of town... that Tab is frequented by mainly local folk - Racing is the choice .... there are very few Nigerian players there - Its mainly empty and you can always get a seat if you need to...same faces everyday. Now Keith Ho is about 800m from there and it is PACKED with soccer players...mostly Nigerian.. they queue for ages and produce tickets longer than their arms... These guys don't rush around the corner to put on the soccer 10 or six etc at the tab.... Betexchance in my opinion has more staff working a shift that the TAB has players!!! Soccer is the future(bad for me as I'm not compulsive so if Racing dies I stop gambling) and Racing cannot compete so lets just enjoy it while we can.

The whole point of my earlier posts the " masses" want to bet on other things, the same happened in the UK
