.....currently indicating that the 1st race at Turffontein is off in 30min.....

.....clearly there are problems with the bots or drones that are employed there....not invested in the job at hand....

....and then there is also that element of miscommunication as it appears that Tabgold has also loaded the betting for Turffontien for today.....and if one who is away without TT did not check this site or get an SMS.....is frantically going to be looking for the results.....or worse you play up a big portion of your daily or weekend punting spend on Turffies exotics today and tie your money up waiting for them to cancel and refund the bets......

What is clear is that, once stuff is loaded on Tab-online,there appears to be no override...eg.it appears thats why they can't pay dividends on abandoned races until after the scheduled time the bet ends, and site still defaults to abandoned meetings.
This is obviously a security thing but surely there should be trusted senior managers ,with security password overrides, for certain circumstances.
They aren't nearly so careful with the security of co-mingled pools!!!!

.....maybe the bot in charge does not like to put in effort on the weekends.....now I see that many of yesterdays fixtures are still on todays results portal.....

......should the system go down when the afternoon betting traffic increases it is because they are not doing their jobs properly.....

.....now I see that someone has come in and cleaned up taking yesterdays fixtures off the today's results portal.....they are not taking any chances in the site going down later.....

.....let's hope its a trouble free punting day..... ;)

....because I am a loyal old dog....besides bookies go home with the money that punters donate to them and very little gets back into the game....at this rate local racing will continue to shrink and die....it is not the only problem with the game .....but they need to be reminded and goaded until they start getting it right before they totally kill it...... :S

Solo ,I know the question wasn't aimed at me but applies!!
My reason is ,that I believe the take-out of the tote is excessive because the expenses in the business model is too high and I believe that stakeholders should demand an independant analysis thereof(it is in their interests)
However ,at least a large portion of that take-out goes back to fund horseracing. If bookmakers pay you an identical dividend to the tote ,it is a dividend based on the "net of take-out pool" but the take-out portion is pocketed rather than reinvested.
That is why I take all my win/place bets at fixed price odds but prefer to use the tote for all pool type bets.
I just wish that the tote would listen to their own slogan when managing the efficiency of their system- NO(working) TAB,No SA HORSERACING

There is only one Bookmaker, Betxchange, that I know off that has only a limit for the Pick 6 and with no hidden terms and conditions for any other Open Bet type. Every other Bookmaker has T&C's with restrictions. Thread cautiously when playing the Open Bet with Bookmakers.
