strikers ride on the conglomerate must go down as one of the greatest rides of all time for various reasons..overcoming a wide draw without taking to much out of him plus the fact that the horse has gone way off form from his 3yo days where he won the guineas at greyville unextended and dropped almost 8 pounds in the ratings from his guineas win..the horse looked sour to racing until the great hands of striker coupled with the FACT HE NEVER WENT FOR THE STICK UNTIL THE 200M and even then he only showed the horse it just reinforces how great this jockey is ....the ride should be showed over and over at the jockey academy ...he has no equals

Fully agree my mate..Striker is one of the best on the planet..its just how it is..his talent and experience is unrivaled!

Brilliant ride

Brilliant result for him without having to do very much P. he got his position from the gate without much effort and had a clear run to the line. Striker made it look easy but he most def had the horse under him.

Pomodora & The Conglomerate won the July from the worst draw, both were ridden by Strydom. Incidentally both these horses had saddle cloth number 14.

In 2012 when striker won the July , it was no. 14. At 20/1 from draw 20 (last barrier draw), the jockey that rode the second horse was GVN,
