It's a fairy tale ending for more than just Sylvester, the famed roaming lion, in the Addo Elephant National Park.
SANParks announced that the lion was successfully relocated from the Karoo National Park just outside Beaufort West to Addo Elephant National Park’s Kuzuko contractual area, about two hours outside Port Elizabeth.
But it's not only Sylvester who gets a happy ending... as this video and photos shared by SANParks shows.
Remember the three orphaned lion cubs that survived against all odds when their mother died in December 2014, presumably of a snake bite?
Well, two of the survivor lioness cubs are now in fact the lady friends allocated to Sylvester! The third cub, a male, has since died SANParks' Fayroush Ludick told Traveller24.
Addo truly seems like a place of second chances for lions - where every cat has its day. The lions were already seen familiarising themselves with one another shortly after Sylvester arrived in the boma.
