can anyone still clarify how the cost is determined??
If you have something that someone else wants your in a strong position
When a big club comes calling for a footballer the prices automatically goes up
If the player is owned by a small club the big side will play hard ball
If the player is owned by a club with loads of cash they are then forced to go mental to sign their man..
Same applies to racing, but if an owner doesnt want to sell the horse has no choice

Irish Classic winner to be offered at London Sale
Wonder if Van V has any spare cash
BY BLOODSTOCK WORLD STAFF 12:38PM 1 JUN 2016
LAST month's Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Jet Setting will be offered at the Goffs London Sale on Monday, June 13.
Her appearance at the auction looks set to be the next chapter of what has already been a phenomenal success story for connections.
Purchased by John Kilbride Equine for just 12,000gns at last year's Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale the filly, who will be offered with an entry in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, could potentially provide her owners with a significant profit on their investment.
The daughter of Fast Company became a first top-level winner for her sire when victorious at the Curragh, a race that saw her inflict defeat upon triple Group 1 winner and 1,000 Guineas heroine Minding.
Trained by Adrian Keatley, Jet Setting also recorded Group 3 success in the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes.
It is the second time in recent years that Goffs will have offered a Classic winner as the Paulyn Dispersal in 2013 saw Irish Oaks heroine Chicquita sold for €6 million.
Equinegrowthpartners Syndicate member John Kilbride said: "Jet Setting gave us our best ever day at the races at The Curragh and we now look forward to another big day in London.
"We've had plenty of interest in her and we feel it best to let the market decide. With potential buyers from all over the world in one place, the Goffs London Sale provides a wonderful setting on the eve of Royal Ascot in which to do this."
Goffs group chief executive Henry Beeby said: "Jet Setting is one of those fairytale stories that lights up racing from time to time and we look forward to writing the next chapter in London a week on Monday."

No and no.The answers to your 1st 2 questions.Good on you for taking the money, never said I judge anyone who does, just don't understand people who does...as for money...its the devils advocate! At least you had the experience of winning on a Gr2 on a big race day. I bet that you will be one of those you will never forget.
In a movie called Hitch...Will Smith says...Life isn't abt the amount of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away!
Cheers.
Lol meant to say that day will be one of the days you will never forget neh.
And the Gr 1 on July Day was even better

Imo, a lot depends on timing - at the time I had a lot of expenses coming up (putting 2 kids through school etc.) - now the possibility of having another few 'moments to take my breath away' viewed against cold hard cash - at the time, it was a sad (my wife shed a few tears when we went to Kenilworth to see the filly run for the last time in SA), but easy decision to make.
Had this happened 20 years later, my decision might have been different - and this is the situation that the Vuurens find themselves in - having LOTS of money and earning more each day - why not spend it on something that may buy you more of those precious moments that take your breath away - they had a taste of it with Abashiri - and they are now chasing that rainbow again

don't judge this run the horse missed over a weeks work when sold,to run in a race like this you can't miss any work, don't right him off just yet.

Scottsville has found out many a champion before. Harrys Charm springs to mind but I am sure there have been many more.
Also new surroundings, different routines. Methinks the jury is still out on this one
