GREY Wed - Due to soft underfoot conditions, average Pen 40 and further forecast of rain, Races 5, 6, 7 & 8 will be run on the Polytrack.

Legal Eagle 6/10 (0.6/1)
Abashiri 8/10 (0.8/1)
Take each odd and add 1. So legal eagle is now 1.6/1 and aba 1.8/1
Multiply together 1.6 * 1.8 = 2.88/1
The subtract 1: 2.88-1 = 1.88/1
Thats how i work it out lol if double ot treble or quad just follow same steps and at the end minus 1
Spot on!

3 winners in a patent
1/1
2/1
3/1
A patent is 3 win bets, 3 double and treble
Your stake is R10 total outlay R70
Your returns
Win 1
R10 @ 1/1 10+10 =r20
R10 @ 2/1 20+10 =r30
R10@ 3/1 30+10 =r40
Remember to always add your stake
Doubles
Double 1
1/1 x2/1
= R10 @ 1/1 = r20 x 2/1 = 40 +20 = R60
Double 2
1/1 x 3/1
= r10 @ 1/1 = r20 x 3/1 =60 + 20 = R80
Double 3
2/1 x 3/1
R10 @ 2/1 = r30 x 3/1 = 90 +30 = R120
Treble
1/1 x 2/1 x 3/1
R10 @ 1/1 = 20 x 2/1 = 40 + 20 =60 x 3/1 = 180 + 60 = 240

Simply put, add 1 to every to every price (quoted), multiple out and subtract 1 from your answer e.g.
Betting is :- 5/10 - 18/10 - 28/10
becomes 1.5 x 2.8 x 3.8 = 15.9 (minus 1) = 14.9
Hope this helps.

R3, one to consider at a very good price, (9/2), is Victory Takeover. This horse will probably start outright favourite. The joint favourite, Miss Brody is taking on stronger and should start at a bigger price. Ostentation (5/1) despite the apprentice allowance of 4.0kgs is still out at the weights by 1.5kgs and has a wide draw to contend with. Seek The Summit (6/1) has a wide draw to contend with , couldn't win from a wide draw two runs back against weaker company, don't believe it will win today. Time Marches On (7/1), with the swing in the weights with my fancy, should not finish ahead of Victory Takeover. Deep Down Rebel (17/2), if it had a winning chance, Delpech would have retained the ride. Private Dancer (17/2), taking on much stronger and also has a wide draw to contend with. Forget about the balance.
Victory Takeover, it's last two wins were over the course and distance and on each occasion was ridden by Marcus. Today Marcus gets back aboard and from draw one will take a power of beating.

Really like Victory Takeover in the 3rd. She runs well for Marcus winning her last over the C & D with him aboard. She is a strong front runner and has a plumb draw if 1. If she can get away a few lengths at the top of the straight she could be hard to peg back. There is some 6/1 available on her and she looks very decent EW value at this price.
Play well.
