Subject: Easter & Racing at Turffontein & Dubai World Cup
Date: 11 MARCH 2016
Turffontein will be the place to be for Easter holiday Saturday, March 26.
Free entrance to the races with a complimentary Easter egg given to each
patron who comes racing, stand a chance of finding a R5000 betting voucher
inside the wrapped Easter egg. In addition to this a Buffet Easter lunch
will be served in the Furious Room and on the City Deck and a place can be
booked for R185 per person.
The latter two venues are advantageous places to be for both a bird’s eye
view of the racing and to watch the Dubai World Cup in comfort.
There are not only three Graded events to look forward to at the nine-race
meeting, but there will also be live big screen coverage of the Dubai World
Cup, where trainers of the like of Mike de Kock and possibly Paul Lafferty
will be flying the South African flag.
On the card is the Gr 2 Senor Santa Handicap over 1200m, which attracts
some of the country’s best sprinters, as well as the Gr 2 Colorado King
Stakes over 2000m, which is often used as a springboard for horses either
preparing or attempting to qualify for the Gr 1 R4 million President’s
Champions Challenge.
There is also the Gr 3 Sycamore Sprint over 1200m, which is always
competitive and is contested by fillies and mares who are blessed with
speed.
