Race 1 State Ballet great run against the boys last time, and as these races appear to be the only ones in the cape where all jocks actually try to win imo worth a small bet

Race 5 - Lohnromance at 12/1. Did a write up for the Paddock before she was scratched. Bad draw but worth it at the price.

Race 4, Handicap: #1 HOIST THE MAST; doddled her maiden on her penultimate start and ran a cracker improving 11 pounds on her next start; lightly raced suggesting even more room for improvement; jockey Domeyer and trainer Nel are both in form; best current price 16/10 with Interbet exchange.

Prosperous punting B)

@ Mac, I also fancy the chances of Hoist The Mast in the 4th even though Sweetchild O Mine enjoys a 1.5kg pull at the weights on their last meeting for a 1.55 length beating. Just feel that Hoist The Mast has much more scope for improvement than Sweetchild O Mine. If Hoist The Mast runs anywhere close to her last effort, she will put this field away. My punt for the day.

Line Break in race 3 is the other one I fancy. Two horse race, I think, the danger being Exelero. Need Van Niekerk to stick to his own race plan and not get sucker punched by Marcus.

Speaking of Marcus, taken a speculative treble on his mounts in the 5th, 6th and 7th races.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race1: Workriders can throw up a result, but Respectable Rebel looks a worthy favourite despite a break since his last run. State Ballet has good form and will challenge, and Heracles is also a possible danger.
Race 2: We have Final Judgement in here, and expect her to win. She is a very classy filly, and her debut on Met day was very promising when green. She will have come on from that, and the form of that race has stood up well. Bipot banker.
Race 3:Line Break drops in class and is well in here. Should win. Exelero will challenge. Sail for Gold seems to regaining form and should earn a cheque.
Race 4: Small field and any could win. Hoist the Mast should go close- main danger is Sweet child o mine.

Race 5: very nice race. Cuvee Brut is best in at the weights of the older fillies, and is my selection to win. Her pedigree suggests that she will enjoy going beyond the sprints.
Fear Not and Come Fly with me will not be far off. There are some useful 3 yo's that could pop up. If Acaciawood stays the trip she may be the best of the younger brigade, while Petala and Flying Ice have the class to win. I can't have Lohnromance despite all the talk but clearly the stable rate her far better than what she has shown to date.
Race 6: pace will decide this small field. Coltrane is the class stayer, but Gallica Rose, Current Event and Zante all capable of winning. King of Pain has the class to upset, and has a good second in the winter derby over 2400m to suggest he may stay the trip, especially if there is no pace.
Race 7: Very open race, where Hard Days Night brings the 3yo form into the picture. He is a big runner. Milton is still improving, and may be best of the older horses. Bass has a very strong hand with Night Trip and Sheer Trouble, and old man Ashton Park is a good miler. Heartland is in with a shout, as is Kingvoldt. Bottom weight As you Like could surprise.
