Cape racing sad and pathetic
9 years 4 months ago - 9 years 3 months ago
Saturday 7 race card
64 runners before scratchings. only the last race has 15 runners.
Really with all the horses in the cape it make no sense that they don't race more often and bigger fields.

Too many horses owned by rich folk ? Breeders that don't want the value of stallions to go down with pish progeny running !

If a Cape trainer has more horses running in PE in a med-week meeting than in CPT are they a Cape trainer?

Why the big trainers like Tarry/De Kock etc bother to travel all that way for the farce that is the cape crawl, is beyond me. owner pressure I guess?
Maybe once there is only 5 Snaith runners in each race on Met Day will something get done about it

It is a bit pathetic looking at the nominations and final fields even though there has been attempts to improve things. Was more nominations in 2 races in KZN than for entire meeting in the Cape when I looked last week
