There is no way there is any pic that can show that the inside horse won...I took the exacta with 9 as banker for first and 4 among other horses for second...I am talking from my pocket so maybe my objectivity has taken a leave of absence... :(

Have they missed that Flying Ryan has a white nose?

So what does a dead heat look like?

i think a pixel difference, never mind whisker or hairline - but the inside horse's nose is definitely touching the second yellow line. The white nose is touching the first yellow line.

The old trainers had a golden rule
NEVER buy a yearling that only has one testicle down

New rule number !
NEVER buy a horse with a WHITE nose

Perhaps a d-h would have been a better call but I would say on that evidence and with my poor eyesight, if any of the two won outright then it was probably the inside horse.

My main point here though is that this is way way way too late. That photo should have been on tv screens the second the result was announced. SA racing has to sharpen up its act and start thinking outside the box, they must be seen to be making the game as clean and honest as possible, they are drastically short of that currently, whether it be the powers that be, stipes, trainers, owners, jockeys, whoever, everyone has to do more.

There is a shaded area right on the 4's nose so I can't tell if it is touching the front or back line but seeing this photo it looks like a dead heat to me.

Oh well, my money is done, no use crying over spilt milk!

I've often wondered why we have two photo lines when we have one finishing post.

And is there a specification for the width of the photo line?

Just dumb thoughts, nothing serious :-)

After the July photo finish some years ago (that took 10 mins to decipher and still arguable) it was decided to have 2 lines and the rule was ,that any result within the parameters ,would be a dead heat.
As we know ,however, rules don't mean a thing to our lot ..............in terms of that amendment, this result was a dead heat!!!!!!!
