Man killed in Chatsworth tote shoot-out

Durban- A man was shot dead and two others arrested when a shoot-out broke out at a betting house in Chatsworth on Wednesday.
The three armed men allegedly targeted the betting house, robbing the employees of cash just after midday in Funfair road, Bayfair.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane said however that some employees were able to notify the nearby police office.
He said the men were then confronted by the station's officers, including the station commander. A shoot-out ensued and one of the men was killed.
Zwane said police recovered three revolvers and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The remaining duo will face charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances and attempted murder. They will appear in the Chatsworth Magistrate's Court soon.
An inquest docket was opened to investigate the death of the third person.
