Charlie Weir was something else he could knock them out with either fist but for the glass jaw would have been something special. I was at his title fight where Davey Moore gave him a brutal beating and possibly one of the most savage knockout punches that I have witnessed.

The late Brian Baronet was my favourite fighter of this era. What he lacked in talent, he more than made up in heart. Tragically he died in the ring after talking his corner out of throwing in the towel during a fight against Kenny Vice

Have always loved boxing and betting on it ........................before there was official sports betting, my best win for years was bets with mates ,colleagues and club members on Tap Tap Makhatini to beat Charlie Weir at Kingsmead ,Durban.
(was a very poorly paid clerk and won 3x months salary .....life changing......lol !!!)

As you say, Charlies defence was nil and Tap Tap was the best counter puncher in the land!
