He did that to get the horse into the stall. Its been done hundreds and thousand of times before in every racing jurisdiction I can think off!!!!

A lot worse things happen to horses every day...

Sideways movement on tails cause no pain , only upward movement hurts them

Far more cruel was the sad sight of Chekilli breaking down in the same race and the jockey not getting off as soon as he should have.

OTA, F Herholdt had to bring the horse to a stop first, not easy at full tilt, when the horse was stationary he got off immediately. No problem, sadly it made no difference.

South African racing hates talking about the shit that goes on, it's not good for their image etc. But soon as a punter asks for a tip the scream their lungs off..

Dogs love a bone but hate sharing

I thought Herholdt's conduct was admirable. He jumped off as soon as Chekilli came to a halt.

In Korea, your horse is a non-starter if it is euthenised on the track. Something I would like to see here.

I thought he took his time, a view others shared at the time. I am not saying this was deliberate but imvho he could have got off a lot sooner. Makes no difference to the poor horse, always a sad sight to witness.
