The NHA -what is their role?

I have harped on about the regulators failure to regulate ,including suggesting that many board members have no idea what the rules actually say (reinforced by the "P" CEO ,and board member stating that operators are not bound by NHA rules!!!!!!,and correspondence I have received from the NHA pointing out the difficulty of enforcing its own rules)
The latest response (on the home page) is typical.............they state that a rule remained incorrect for 11 years, including at least one complete review!
Interesting that the NHA have more legal people involved than a small law firm and yet resort to the lamest and weakest defence of any charge ...............mistake ...........for 11 years??
Perhaps its time for an official enquiry into the regulators, as regulating, by virtue of enforcing appropriate rules, is their sole purpose!

(lets hope that the latest changes to the structure will lead to the required improvement)

who? they probably didnt even know they had been making a mistake until it was pointed out..

The nhra should be 100% independent, all board members must have no connection to any other organisation or business connected to racing..

100% agree. The NHA is dictated to by the operators a bit lime te tail wagging the dog.

If this is true and this happens then I must surmise the NHA has no function in racing. Do the NHA not licence the operators? If they do then surely GC is bringing racing into disrepute by attempting to bypass NHA jurisdiction?

If I had to guess ,it might be a first step to trying to force independent regulation as it must be uncomfortable for GC being regulated by puppets of its opposition (based on the principle of "he who pays the piper............") who must contribute most to the costs of the NHA
Until the regulation levies are paid into an independent fund that finances the regulators, the regulators have no independent power at all!

This Maselle chap has given the NHA the gears on Sporting Post. If I understand his post it seems he is accusing them of theft of funds. This is surely not possible or is it?
