Kenilworth Wednesday 25th
10 years 2 months ago - 10 years 2 months ago
As I am led to believe some of the bookies shut down at 7pm, have deliberately been waiting to post this lol...
R5 Roman Silvanus has been marked up at around 6/4 fav with the betting at around 11/2 bar.
This is another race where I am NOT saying the horse in question won't win but, regarding Roman Silvanus this is the comment on the Bass website...
"He has been off for sometime and this will just be a comeback run, which will be far too short for him"
Make your own minds up but that doesn't sound particularly bullish to me which might result in others shortening, possibly significantly, come race time and thus there might be some value around now if you can find the winner...
That isn't easy as they look a mediocre bunch at best (hence RS may still be good enough) but, for me...
Megamind is my tentative vote as on lines through Saint Donan and War Declaration he may just about hold a couple of others given a mention here. Don't think he particularly enjoyed Durbanville lto so might appreciate coming back to Ken. The blinkers come off and he does tend to weaken but might still be just about good enough.
Ravishing Lad was almost a toss the coin job with Megamind. He has (albeit against some "limited" looking fields) improved back over sprints after three straight poor draws over further. Fourie is up which is a positive for me.
Aldabara Run may get going too late but does try the blinkers.
Seattle Kat looks held by Ravishing Lad on their last two runs.
Hidden Dragon could be the joker, returns from a 33 week rest and was well beaten when returning from a 15 week rest lto. That is too much of a concern for me but, on earlier form, I think this race would be his for the taking if fit and well. Anyone know if the Marcus stable normally has them raring to go back from a break?
I couldn't have any of the remainder but it is a mediocre bunch so... let me know if one peaks your interest!
Anyway, as I say, RS could still win so use this or not as you wish... as always
I am not going to feel bad about this if RS does win lol. Any comments, thoughts etc would be appreciated.
If you find the winner then maybe a double with Legal Force in the 4th could pay dividends. Oh and unless you are looking at one that is 20s plus maybe avoid Interbet, their prices are very poor comparatively, I think Hwood prices on all those under 20s are better than those at Interbet. Pretty shameful stat really.

Thanks Englander! Valued input and great analysis. Not having any bets tomorrow as I believe the bookies need to build up reserves for Saturday, lol!
Legal Force for me looks far from a good thing based on finishing times, personally I smell something fishy in that race.
All the best for tomorrow fellas

After having a good look i reckon Bella Spumante at 5/2 is the best bet on the card

Any comments on Fear Not, beat captains dove in the last run, which I recall won on Sunday?
