And bringing racing into disrepute..........................
Stewards
Irate owner fined for mounting yard spray
Paul Joice - 16 Feb 2015
An owner was fined $2000 by Racing NSW stewards for giving an apprentice a gob-full after the horse he part-owned finished unplaced at Wyong on February 5.
The owner, Mr Craig Miller, aggressively approached, verbally abused and swore at jockey Samantha Clenton after she finished fifth on Heresdecasino ($4.60) in a 2200m metre Benchmark 60 event.
The verbal tirade began before Clenton had dismounted and continued afterwards.
The owner pleaded guilty to a charge of conduct prejudicial to the image and interests of racing.
Stewards stayed half of the fine for a period of two years, on condition that the owner not again in that period offend under the conduct rules of racing.

I remember how the punters used to have a go at the jockeys along the shute and the parade ring at Kenilworth when horses that they backed lost. It was so funny to watch.

Can still remember the occasion over 30 or more years ago at the Parade Ring at Greyville Racecourse after an event and poor little trainer Mr.Brian Cherry was given a roasting by one of his leading patrons at the time Mr.L.Burstein,who owned top horses like Kentford and Mildenhall.
Was not pleasant to see...............Brian Cherry was a master horseman.

Have often said here that Cherry had probably the best ROI I can remember .........bought cheapies like Dougal ,Dargie ,Row to Rio etc and got brilliant results .............Stable having a very good relationship with Muis Roberts, who often rode for the stable, didn't hurt either..........lol

STABLEHAND ASSAULTS TRAINER, GETS A TWO YEAR BAN..........
Stablehand Disqualified For Two Years
RNSW stewards inquired into an incident which occurred in the tie-up stalls area of Rosehill Gardens racecourse during official trials on February 3.
Evidence was taken from Mathias Guijarro Puentes, a licensed stablehand, and licensed trainer Matthew Smith.
Statements were tendered from Teague McDonald (RNSW Cadet Steward officiating at the trials); Andrew Clarken (licensed stablehand); Robbie Merrick (licensed stablehand); amd Alexander Kuterescz (licensed stablehand).
Matthew Smith tendered to the inquiry copies of an email exchange of December 8 2014 and December 11 2014 between himself and Guijarro Puentes, who had been employed in Smith’s stable for approximately four weeks during November/December 2014.
Guijarro Puentes was found guilty of a charge of improper conduct in that by repeatedly kicking and punching, he did assault and/or did attempt to assault Matthew Smith in the tie-up stalls during official trials at Rosehill on February 3.
In assessing penalty, the stewards established that disputation over payment of wages, when Guijarro Puentes left Smith’s employ, had been the catalyst for Guijarro Puentes
action, whereby Fair Work Australia had ruled in Mr Smith’s favour.
They also took into account that Guijarro Puentes had been cautioned by a steward on December 10 against taking matters into his own hands, yet on the December 11 he sent Smith threatening emails.
Whilst acknowledging Guijarro Puentes had a prior clear record, the stewards handed down a two year disqualification to commence on February 3 2015 and to expire on February 3 2017.
He was further advised that he would be required to appear before the Licensing Committee should he again seek to be licensed as a stablehand/rider in NSW.

I was at Greyville many years ago when Muis Roberts rode a horse that was favourite for Brian Cherry that ran 4th. It was a Wednesday afternoon and I was standing at the 4th box when Muis dismounted and was very irate. "Get rid of this, it is rubbish" Muis said to Mr Cherry. Mr Cherry was trying to placate Muis before the owner arrived. It is very funny.
