Stable transparency
10 years 4 months ago - 10 years 4 months ago
Happened to hear the preview of the Borrowdale 5th -stable rep doing the preview stated categorically that the winner , who won with a ton in hand , would need the run badly......and "not today"
Wish I could get that kind of transparency from all stables ......lol

Rob I'm starting to think open track work is the only way
If racing can't afford to move on , then so be it
Race 5 times a week
Once in each region , open track work , weights, sectional timing, proper betting market scrutiny, race by race integrity checks.

its very simple if you don't want to hear it then either mute or don't follow it.. I happen to enjoy the comments from the yards and I make do with what I want from them and have managed to work out over the years how to read them ...thanks to all the yards who give out the wellbeing and comments from their respective yards

Pirates ,I have to ask? .........................So you have managed to work out that "will need the run badly .........not today " actually means "will sh!t in without coming off the bit"
Damn, I obviously know nothing about the game!

On the contrary ,I also need all the help I can get ..............I just prefer it from those empowered to measure and manage it..........just a different philosophy!
We are getting signs of what happens when owners believe that too much info is being given to the public, so if the pressure is on stables from both sides, how valuable is any dissemination likely to be?
Can't blame the spokesman for just giving the non-committal "doing well ,hoping for a good run"
Is this relatively recent pressure on stables, for voluntary info, not unfair on them?
If owners are waiting to have a strike on their horses, surely they don't want to read or hear that the public are as well informed as they are ............I personally don't blame them.
Perhaps I can't believe that the principles have really changed from the days that the "real info" was probably in the hands of less than 1% of punters.

My opinion on transparency is testament to the stable I have my horses with, but then Im not a big punter, but do enjoy a flutter.
I have to however ask a few questions.
How many punters listen and use this info ?
Secondly how accurate is this info ?
Thirdly do you have/listen to only your favorite "transparent stables" even if they not in form and if so does it cost you ?
Too much info can be confusing and how much of this info is open to conjecture ? (all of it IMHO)
Study form + all this transparency info = huge profits ? I dont think so its gambling guys !

Actually Titch ,if you look at Winning Form's "Money Horses" page over time ,many more stable fancies "miss" than hit, judging by that.(the strike rate is very low)
(BTW, I don't think that there was anything sinister about the feedback on the Borrowdale 5th as it was too late for anybody to have benefitted from any deception.)
For me,it highlighted that very little "info" improves the chances of profit ,because most stables don't have the time to do the RELATIVE form, and more importantly don't know the RELATIVE fitness of the opposition ,and that is what really counts!
