Payment to trainers
10 years 5 months ago
My New Years Wish
I have recently assisted 2 trainers to try to collect outstanding bills for keep
I was amazed that an owner with 2 horses ran up a bill of R60k then won 2 races and paid
R35k off the bill.
Another BIG owner with horses in 5 or 6 different yards owes all his trainers about 3 to 4 months keep
I understand KZN is the capital of nonpayers
Oh forgot my wish
May you all be put on the defaulters list

My personal opinion in such a matter is that trainers should not nominate horses for races iro of owners who owe them fees until such time such fees are settled.
At the same time there are some trainers who invite trouble themselves by telling owners to start paying when the horse starts to earn. This can take months in some cases n then the owner/s do not part with the winning cheque to settle fees.
But shame on those who owe these trainers their keep.

It's really a bloody shame on these owners that don't pay on time. For whatever reason. Bloody losers. The trainers work their butt out to get them their winnings and this is what they do.
Don't they even have a conscious towards the trainers. Feeds, transportation etc are costly. They should be brought out in the open and should be embarrassed. Don't know if they have any dignity to feel embarrassed. It saddens to hear this....
