my guess is that the beancounters at Phumelela have told the blokes at computaform to start making it a profit concern because its been well publicized that its a loss making concern so they have literally raped it and come up with this current fcuk shit and piss replacement that they have copied from hong kong ...they even have the audacity to increase the price for what?really do you think a serious punter wants a glossy cover..you cant find a winner on a cover and it gets binned after the meeting...and please don't come with the propaganda shit on tellytrack how its a winner when its been going for 2 days...

The serious punters at the rooms give this a big thumbs down.

How can less information be seen as an improvement?

Like everything else in racing that men of vision and stature built over the years, it all gets undone in the hands of the current operators of the game.

Looking back at what the legendary Ernie Duffield started all those years ago, he was light years ahead of the pack , was good ole Ernie.

what they should be doing is selling the rights for computaform to owen heffer of winning form who runs a PROPER BUSINESS...will they do it no because they cannot see the big picture and do it for the benefit of the industry as a whole...

That's positive but one thing I don't understand which has been brought up here by a few is spending money on quality paper - Most smaller punters use the Citizen which is newspaper and many others I see are using the Computaform express - To me I would rather have a thicker version of the express that could perhaps contain TWO or THREE meetings but with the format of the Old Computaform(keep the cheaper Express but upgrade to a BI-weekly Computaform proper on lower quality paper) - One cover in thicker bond paper so that alone would cut costs perhaps.
That way you could give the punter continuity if the one of the meetings rain out. I think most serious punters would rather have a compromise on quality of paper that a compromise on information. On a more sinister note having more meetings in a book also might improve turnover and advertising revenue as the lifespan of the book is extended.

.....OK if TPTB actually listen or look for input here the way out for them is to get back to the old format because why fix what was already working.....since they have spent a few pennies on the cribbing of the Hong Kong race card format condense into an A5 booklet like a pocket size race card of old.....or transfer/sell the rights of this format to a party that can be able to run with it.....however I for one have no faith in those that chose to make the changes in the 1st place.....I have 250 days left of a gift subscription for online Computaform and since it was not my money.....frankly I don't give a damn....as Formgrids would be far better than the mess that Computaform is making.... :woohoo:

Keep it simple.....a mantra to most successes... ;) ..but I wonder who the brainchild was to have copied the Hong Kong format.....the font, lay out and style is exactly the same yet still very difficult to read.....and very sinister is the sudden change to this format....wonder what is the real motivation for this change....

cant understand how they can make changes and now will change again,, crazy, if they felt they were competent enough to make (which they did) changes in the first place, now how can they be competent enough now to make more changes just because the punters complain,, they should leave alone what works and not worry about proving anything,, hope Vee can answer what he meant about now once again computaform will be The Leading Horseracing formguide,, are they trying to compete against someone ???
