guineas achieved his rating by beating another group 1 winner in carry on alice who beat the colts in a group 1..he achieved it over 1200m ..act of war has achieved his best rating over 1600m ..guineas would beat act of war over 1200m when fit and well ...

so then how is it that Afrikaburn who won his first 3 starts including a Group 1 beating Guiness by 7 lengths is rated 110..or was that maybe another under par run by Guiness as no doubt was Carry On Alices (108) run yesterday

carry on alice wasn't rated to win titch ...the eventual winner was the best handicapped...the first 3 horses in the guineas were the top rated horses in the race,,,do you think guineas when running to afrikaburn ran to his rating?he achieved his rating up the straight his run to afrikaburn was over further and around the turn...I will say it again he achieved his rating over 1200m not 14 not 16....

one must always remember that handicapers don't handicap retrospectively while we can ...they will make mistakes they only human but tell me any others that can do their job better than the current lot...I have said it before I believe in the current climate they work under they get it right around 90 percent of the time...

So just to clarify my thinking, Harry's Son a 114 beats King Voldt a 107 by a short head and runs 1,75 Lengths behind Act Of War a 113 at levels and the handicappers have got it right ??

So the ratings are right but just a below par run, breathing problem and running over the incorrect distances that need to be factored in..OK now I got it, silly of me to overlook these basic factors..

titch the handicapers don't train the horses they can only rate them on what they see in front of them..does a horse always run to its best titch?are handicapers to blame if they don't run to their best titch?i take it you do your own handicapping so please give us your handicapping for tomorows vaal meeting so u can highlight where the handicapers are wrong and help us with our selections

I take it that all those who continue to knock the handicapers never have a losing bet as every time you have a bet on a horse you are saying this horse will beat the rest becaiuse its the best HANDICAPED horse in the field...don't know of to many bookies that are struggling

let us remind ourselves about Mathew lips ...he won several punter competitons that Phumelela telebet ran in the old days ,many would just buy the winning form so they could tear out the back page where he tipped and I was told by a member of the panel that used to price up that they always looked at his top 5 choices before they priced up,he was in charge of buying 2nd hand horses for Hollywood and had huge success..i have had the privilege to listen to his views and experiences in racing and can honestly say his knowledge is unfcuckenbelievable..the industry is very lucky to have him as a handicaper
