Also active on day 1 was Markus Jooste’s Mayfair Speculators, which signed for Lot 83, Gianthalf. The Giant’s Causeway mare out of Halfbridled (Unbridled) is believed to be in foal to Exchange Rate.
Keeneland Breeding Sale - Lot 246 (Galileo - Airwave)
Lot 246 – Aloof (Galileo – Airwave)
The second and final Book 1 session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale took place on Wednesday, 5 November and saw Irish broodmare Aloof (Lot 246 by Galileo out of the Air Express mare Airwave) knocked down for to Whisper Hill Farm for $3,9 million. There was also a record price for a weanling, when Bridlewood Farm went to $3 million for the Tapit filly out of Serena’s Cat (Lot 402). The filly is a half-sister to Rathmor Stud’s Noble Tune.
South African buying power was again in evidence with 4 more purchases. Mayfair Speculators went to $325,000 for lot 224, the Irish-bred Untoward, a 5yo daughter of Galileo out of the Mt Livermore mare Eliza, believed to be in foal to Malibu Moon. They also went to $725,000 for Lot 413, another Irish-bred mare named Society Pages. The 3yo daughter of Medaglia d’Oro out of the Coronado’s Quest mare Society Selection is believed in foal to Tapit.

hes spent more overseas this year than have been spent in all south african sales combined... scary
