And he ran 6 wide into the straight. We think 3 wide is "wide".

AM will be better perceived if he takes more mounts and rides more winners in non set-weight races...
More often than not, he is on the best horse in the field in terms of exposed form or breeding and since it is a set-weight race, it is expected to win being better off at the weights than the other runners...if he won more in handicap races where more horses, theoretically, have a chance then it his ability and judgment and jockey-ship that won the race rather than purely the ability of the horse he is mounting...
Yes, there have been great rides like the Jay Peg ride and the Hill Fifty Four ride but how many of the great rides have been in handicaps ?? Too few that they hardly get a mention...
Rides on horses like Variety Club owe more to the horse as they were the best in set-weight races and therefore expected to win...
Furthermore, it will always be a matter of personal opinion as to who the best is / was but unless they are on exactly the same horse in exactly the same conditions, so that ability and judgment become the sole criteria for determining winner, it is a frivolous discussion...
For me, the best jockey, at any moment in time, is the one that steers home the horse I had my money on...

If he is as good as Lester, that makes Anton easily better than Lester?
