Greyville Poly, 17/10

R6 I think National King can go very close. This horse's merit rating has dropped from a82 to a 76 in a space of about 2.5 months. Off this rating he should be competitive in this field. He does enjoy a slight pull in the weights with those who ran ahead of him in the Roy Royale race on the 03/10. One for the one-for the-day-brigade.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

omw what rubbish!!!!
I love night meetings but i cannot see anyone enjoying this
i know its off season but over the last two years its gone from bad to this

so they built this poly for battling trainers' battling horses not as an alternative racing surface

lets see who defends first

the breeders are smiling.Money in the bank

Colors, you don't have to defend bullsh1t and that is what it is so I wont even bother. At least we will be racing as after last nights rain we would not have raced anywhere. 45 stake cheques for owners will be paid out that would not have on any grass track! All my and other trainers owners that I have spoken to, love the polytrack. It seems it is only some people on this forum that don't. The punters on course that come and ask me if my horse has a chance have all said that they like the poly when I have asked them. :)

Reckon Durban would have received as much as we did here and that should not be enough to stop racing on a well maintained course with an adequate drainage system

A 100 or so horses on a wet grass track? I dint care how good the drainage is, after the soft soaking rain we had and now the downpour, you are going to create huge divots in the grass. It is absolutely great that we have the poly to race on. KwaZulu-Natal desperately needed this rain but without the poly we would all be sitting at home earning nothing in stakes.

Its great to have poly as an option but to have it as the only raceable venue sucks
Being an outdoor sports we expect weather to play a part but being lavish with money got from selling the only left handed track will not solve the issues that the you face
Making the right decisions when the chips are down is what sets people apart

With the poly we should not lose the 7/10 meetings a year that we normally do. That is a lot of races/stakes that are never really caught up. Maybe it would help the Cape winter season to turn Durbanville into a poly?
