Durbanville, 08/10

Any thoughts?

Here are mine. Two I fancy fairly strong and hoping the others can go close.

The fancied two are :-

R2) - Carousel Swing (28/10 into 18/10). The danger may be Shingle Beach, but two things that put me off, drawn 10 out of 10, and the collateral form is not all that flash. Carousel Swing does have the draw and it will be her third run after the rest. She looks to be coming along the right way.

R5) - Asstar, thought was a touch unlucky last time out in a feature. The jockey switched to the middle where the going was a bit dead, but once saw daylight closed quickly on the winner. Whilst this will be his first run at Durbanville, he is 2 from 2 over the distance and from draw 1, he could run them ragged. The double was 8/1 earlier today, 5/1 still freely available.

Others I'm hoping run well are (R4), Manx Missile. Last two runs have been good efforts. Why I feel he will beat stable companion Zingzilla, he has performed better over the 2400m and their respective runs to Tiger Tops. On the run of the 06/09, Manx Missile gave Tiger Tops 2.0kgs and a 0.30 length beaten, in the Dandyman Can race. On the 09/08, Zingzilla conceded 2.0kgs to Tiger Tops and went down by a length. They met in the race of the 06/09 and Manx Missile beat Zingzilla soundly, but I'm prepared to concede it was Zingzilla's second run after the rest and he was drawn fairly wide. On collateral form Manx Missile is good value and should finish ahead of Zingzilla again. The unknown quantity is the favourite, Solid Speed. If any money comes for this one, he may well be the right one in the race, the stable has some top sorts to gauge by in work, however, first time the distance, drawn wide and second run after the rest, I'll stick with the 6/1 chance, Manx Missile.

R6) - Man From Milan, this horse has run to some really smart sorts. Third run after the rest, drawn decently, there is value at 8/1. See there is a new favourite, Zingaro, 33/10 into 16/10. That is serious money, however, from he's maiden win there has been 5 runners, 4 unplaced and 1 placed runner. This horse has in all probability improved further, still believe the value lies with MFM.

R8) - Surfer Girl, if not in need of the run, she should go close to winning, may well end up favourite come race time.

Good punting.

Does the massive rise in class not concern you, she is a one time winner taking on 2, 3, 4 and a 5 time winners. If you fancy this one, wait, you should get a bigger price than the current odds of 4/1 - break a leg.

If I am forced to take a bet ... it will be Zingaro / Elusive Wave 11/1 the double cannot hurt.
