Phumelela CC,MOU,T/TRack,Staff accom Problems

Phumelela have major issues to sort out re Competition Commission,Tellytrack,Licencing,Staff Quarters,Memo of Understanding and yet we seem to have all gone very quiet on the issue,are we
in favour about what has transpired or still pissed off.I think we all need to respond as our input might be given as evidence at a hearing which surely must follow at some stage about the future of racing,the taxing,staffing,control etc.

Most of the issues coming to the fore have been discussed,on the forum, over the years..............by the moaners..............lol
Interesting how many of those basic shortcomings are rearing there heads officially but the general attitude has been to just hope it will all be OK in the end!

Yes Bob ,like you and Pirates, I am tired of trying to swim upstream,so now just want to drift downstream.
Have given up my colours and punting is now my only interest and if better opportunities than local racing become my value, so be it.

Yes guys this forum has been a platform for customer complaints for over 7 years plus many other positive inputs which have always been overshadowed by the nameless posters issue, the bottom line is things are now being forced changed that should have been tackled at the time when they were burning issues.
I also have more important priorities in life these days but still have an addiction for the game and will do what I can to keep it alive and kicking.

I think the frustration for me is that it is just a game I have loved for 40 years, so it is irritating to see the mismanagement......However the acceptance by the stakeholders,who rely on the success of the local industry for there own survival,without question is surprising.
As stated before, as only a punter, I have options that are much wider than local racing so will just get on with it.
Sadly the operators strategy of " if we ignore them long enough they will go away " has been allowed to be correct
(I have concluded that it is better to watch junk like "it's a rush" with amusement rather than irritation!)

I have always shied away from the politics for two reasons. Firstly punting is my hobby and I want to enjoy my time without getting involved in things that I have little time for, secondly I am a small player who is not a stakeholder so my views are that I do not have the right to interfere.

One thing I will say is that my eyes were opened when Tellytrack punished me and all other international punters when they took off the screening of international races. To me this was disrespectful and showed exactly what their regard for punters is. Because of these actions, I no longer punt with the tote and play all my bets through the open bet at Betxchange where I know my business is appreciated.

I can also say that in the 40 years that I have supported the tote and had a telebet account since 1986, I have never ever received any form of acknowledgement from the tote. That in itself speaks volumes. By acknowledgement I dont mean freebies, I mean just the basic thanks for your support kind of thing.
