Please can someone who knows about breeding help me out. Please excuse my lingo if it isn't 100% but inn sure you can follow.

Form up is out of a polonaise mare. Has 4 full siblings 1 being the ever impressive formation. What I'm trying to work out is why are the other 3 such failures on sand?

Am I missing something crucial when looking. I understand that it isn't exact science but I would have thought it would be closer than this?

An interesting, but rather tough looking card, I've been waiting all week to get racing back to the sand where I have had a bit more success of late in comparison to Grenville, bingo etc. I am however greeted by what looks like quite a tough card.

R1 My fancy here is of no surprise from the tarry yard, however not the odds on, rather Woodstock express, makes sand debut, well drawn and appears to have moderate gate speed which are two pluses I tend to look for on the sand. Gets a capable work rider up and should go close. The odds on is not for me today as he tends to be slow away. Possible improvement and could be a quartet inclusion #11 National Casey, again well drawn and gets a capable work rider up. Seems to have some issues and being by Casey Tibbs may take to the sand so il have an idiots e/w on him.

R2 The obvious selection when looking at the race is Strawmarket. The first leg of the Pa I saw the prices and see that Strawmarket is odds on, although he may go on and win well I decided to try find some value. If mirage drive takes to the surface his front running tactics the way the sand is going at the moment may be of some value, there are some positive breeding indicators that he will take to the surface and he could represent some value. I won't however be leaving out the likes of Deckie Boy (who seems to be improving) as well as Mauri blue. Although Strawmarket may win well, I don't think it's as simple a start to the PA as some would presume.

R3 A nightmare maiden plate as it could possibly go anywhere. Wild thing is a consistent place getter but needs to kick on over the line after coming so close so often. My preference is for Red tzar of the raced runners. He seems to have the most scope for improvement and has a jock up who will never give up. An interesting entrant is the first timer, Paulo, related to a bunch of winners and wouldn't have to be a star to be in the frame against this bunch.

R4 my first banker on the card, however not at much of a price. But it's hard to go against midnite spirit, in form trainer and jock well drawn, gate speed. Will take a power of beating. If that was to happen though I think the two likely contenders for second and third are Mystic express and lady justice, in no particular order.

R5 Another nightmare race on the card and nothing would surprise me to win. Slight preference for Mulberry bay and sweet on you (most scope for improvement) (not really Greylings price either) will be loading up here in all perms.

R6 If only Breathless could just get a draw, badly drawn on Saturday and again drawn in the river. Due to that it makes me look towards Shamal. Well drawn and ideally c/d suited and good jock aboard. I however prefer Gunter's ride Sleuth that won very impressively last time out (albeit not beating much) I fancy her to go very close to following up here. Will be having a slight e/w double for Gunter in the 3rd and here.

R7 Ver competitive looking race. The form St John gray is in at the moment leaving him out at your peril. Striker is 2/3 on where's my chop and couldn't have got too great a feel from form up whom he gets off to ride the old guy. Of the St John Gray trio I can't make up my mind between Lord Hawke (3rd run after a rest), Arkansas (track debut) and creative stripe who seems good e/w value around 10/1 again well drawn with gate speed.

R8 Olympic Bolt, banker in all bets again. He won super impressively last time out, the comments are that he tired late over 2000 in his penultimate run, he was however drawn wide then and when he won last time out. On his handicap debut he now gets pole position which I feel is a huge plus as JP will be able to place him where he wants and will be there for free instead of from those wide barriers where you need luck in running.

Overall as already stated it seems a tough card with potentially a 4 legged pick 6. Hope my blabber sums up a few races and helps.

All the best chaps.

Different trainers perhaps?dunno who the 3 nags are but best guess would be that.
