Hmmmm... are people just jumping on the whispers bandwagon with P King? While not chanceless from the 1 box with Danielson up, the horse has only one top 3 in 10 d runs, seems to prefer "wet" conditions which I don't think the Poly is, first time on the c and was 80/1 lto beaten by another 80/1 shot in a poor field. Not sure how it could be so strongly liked unless the like is at least partly based on the support/whispers. Or maybe I am just not seeing something that others are? Could well win, would just like to know why people think he will...?

Thank you for the contributions so far. I think Englander has it spot on that too many horses have chances today. Gonna be a day of insider trading if there is any profit to be made. Certainly looks more unpredictable than the lotto draw tonight

Anyway, my views (they may well change every time I look at the card):

1. I shortlisted 12 runners!! :sick: However made up my mind on Jay Belle x Promising x Ravishing Jewel x Howami x Acastus. I think jay Belle has a great draw, tactician jock and can only improve on that 1st run on the poly. Not much against her in my view

2. Tough race. Big Thaw stands out for me. Teetan back riding for Yvette. 1ST run on the poly, but Yvette would have had him out there many mornings. Extra 300m won't make a difference. In fact he did run on nicely in his PE debut 2 months ago. Saying all this, I have not ignored the chances off Munaaseb, Puchini, Simmering, Estrella and Makeover

3. Aspen Winter looks best bet of the day. Also think Englander may be right with Storm Lily. Boxed exacta definitely one of by bets. Natural Beauty and Venita could also feature

4. I have been trying to figure out the íntent'Loopy and others refer to. In this race I found íntent'in the booking of Ndlovu for Hekkie. I make this one a really strong E/W bet. Priceless Assset and Liquification will also be thereabouts

5. I could not find a winner in this race. Going with Captain Dino, Black Balladeer, King of the Deep, Bright Approval and Laga Cuomo in my PA and adding the 3,5,9,13 and 16 in the P6

6. Muzi for Smith. (if he is an agent, does that make him family of agent MALEMA?) Born for Ballet really stood out when I 1st looked at this race, but when too many Uren horses stand out in one card, I start getting the jitters. Also the Yeni factor made me choose Pamela Sue as my winner. I think these 2 will see one through the PA, but will add 2,6,11,12 in P6

7. I have always liked Peter's Sylvie. Reminds me soooo much of a varsity love. So excuse the sentimental crap. Fortunately the mare makes a lot of appeal and has decent form. Adding Live Action in the PA. Adding Prairy Star to these in the p6

8. Tough race to end the day. Uren exacta???? can that be possible??? very likely imo, but in the same breath they could make up the exacta for last two. You just never know what he brings to the course. Therefore I am going to risk the egg on my face and go with Fascinating filly, Peregrine King and Sebastian Bolt in the PA. P6 looks a nightmare choice

HAVE FUN ALL. If anyone is at the track, pls pass on any info? PE usually is quite accurate with on course info :woohoo:

E, I included it in my PA, simply because it is 3rd run in PE, got really close last time, trainer usually runs good races in groups of 2, and Danielson looks a jockey strike. O and pole position in a HUGE field around a very tight bend. Probably off the rails, but today's card is just that... off the rails

Fairview 22nd August 2014 Selections...

{A tough card usually yields easy results}

Race 1 : Promising went to the front in her last start and skipped clear, she faded badly the last 300m over the mile and ended up 5,50 lengths behind the winner, Wayne Agrella retains the ride from another good draw and she could be really hard to beat over the shorter trip, she's having her 3rd run in PE and looks good value at 9/2, Sin City worthy eachway bet at 40/1, could be anything this runner from a good draw as well. Selections - Promising X Swingers with Sin City

Race 2 : Estrella deserves one more chance today, from another good draw and the claiming allowance, she gets the blinkers back today and her course and distance form is really good however she is taking on the boys again but has run against them mostly, albeit she should be in the mix up and at 16/1 and I think she's fair value, Big Thaw has shown nice improvement, from a descent draw, should relish the 1300m and be in contention the final furlong. OneManWolfPack is another which makes appeal. Selections - Estrella X Big Thaw

Race 3 : Aspen Winter looks a solid banker, very poor field and I'm hoping Agrella can pull off a double Race 1 and Race 3. Selection - Aspen Winter

Race 4 : Using the Estrella formline, Liquification must then come into the play, I will use Estrella's run as a barometer to decide my final verdict on Liquification. That said there are others to consider however I will remain firm on Liquification should Estrella win/place. Tentative Selection - Liquification
