PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Valhalla is an undulating track which definitely has links style layout. The course is situated in deepest Kentucky 650 miles from the nearest stretch of Atlantic coastline, but with plenty of doglegs, mounded spectator viewing, blind approach shots and island fairways, the course reminds me a little of Whistling Straits (host course for the 2010 PGA). At 7,450 yards, this Par 71 is long so length of the tee may well be an advantage, especially when you factor in that fairways are relatively wide and easy to hit. There's no doubt that Valhalla, like most Nicklaus designs, will be a second shot golf course with accuracy into the large +7,200 sq.ft. greens from mid-to-long positions being critical. The freshly renovated greens feature plenty of contours, so finding the right levels to attack pins from will be critical - similar to Muirfield Village. The course features 3 Par-5s, with 11 Par-4s - 6 of which measure over 450 yards. 3 of the Par 3s also measure over 200 yards in length.

Marc Leishman,Keegan Bradley and Robert Karlson are my three against the field. Can they get ahead of Rory, that's the million dollar question.

I like Fowler to be close again.

My outsider at this point are Chris Kirk top 10, and my standard bet ew on Gmc.
I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

Phil Mickelson finished with a 62 and Westwood a 63 final round at Bridgestone, so I'm backing both of them e/w at current long odds. Prices may drift before tee-off but have taken some now, in case. Also backing Mark Leishman. Made a few bob on him at 16/1 place bet last week, and he seems to be in great form. Also having a dip on Charl Schwartzel who finished well last week. Obviously taken a cover bet on Mcilroy though, to get my money back. If he keeps his current form it's '' Race Over '' :(

IMO Jordan spieth is a great bet. Very cool head on those shoulders for his age.

66/1 available on Hollywood as well as 11,88/1 a top 6 and 5,94/1 a top 10. As Rob said before 2 birdies by Woods and he is sibgle figures.

Best bet of the year is 53/100 on Colin Montgomerie not making the cut.

The season’s final Major tees off on Thursday and with the quality of golf that has been on display over the past couple of weeks, it‘s no wonder that the golfing world is abuzz with excitement. Hosted at the majestic Valhalla, this par 71, 7,500 yard course is one of the most beautiful on Tour and golf fanatics should remember it well from the 2008 Ryder Cup. Back then, the rough was cut fairly short but the field don’t have it as easy this week, as in typical Major fashion, the grass has been allowed to grow and wayward drives will be punished. That is just the first of the field’s problems though as the undulating fairways are lined with trees waiting to trap drives that venture off target. On the front nine, players will also have to compete with the numerous bunkers and water hazards scattered around the course and whilst these thin out a touch on the back nine, the fairways there get a little narrower and the trees a little thicker. As usual in the Majors, the winner will not only have to be in possession of a great all around game but will also be required to hold it together in the face of immense pressure. Other than the 2 holes after the turn, Rory is looking like Variety Club against a maiden field running at Flamingo...
