No surprised. Very unlucky in the July, got stuck behind Espumanti when Wylie Hall and Legislate were going forward she was going backwards.

I got the feeling that Glen thought he should have won the July. I also saw that Espumanti was falling back on him and then he came flying up. Top horse and a pity for us racing enthusiasts.

If he was ridden in the July like he ran over the weekend, he would have won the July by 3 lengths imo

As you know Bob, in the UK, before even a horse makes it debut the top horses are already known by their trainers and is hyped up by the press. No beating around the bush, they already been targeted for the Guineas or the Derby and antepost betting available before they even make their debut in some cases cos the trainers know their ability. In my life time the only horse I know in South Africa before it made its debut and was rumoured to win the July was Dynasty! MLJet is your Red Ray but Majmu is your next Igugu.

These two horses will more than likely never meet but if they had Futura would kick ML's head in good and proper.
It is like comparing a mini to a Porsche really :P

Lets get real. Futura is a top horse, and still improving so we don't know how good he will be. However, he was getting 3kg from Legislate in the July- thats a lot of weight. In the Champion Stakes he stepped up, but was still 2 kg better off than WFA with King of Pain, and beat him by less than 2 L. So at this stage, Futura is about as good as KoP. That makes him a really nice horse, but not yet a superstar.

Reading the newspaper this morning Crawford says he is aiming him at the Queens Plate and Met so not sure where the overseas rumours come from.
