Futura in or out ?
11 years 2 days ago
I know it seems impossible for Futura to get in the July, but I see today it shortened into 10-1 again.
Personally I think he hasn't earned a spot. He ducked the best 3 year olds and still failed.
Yet, the money still comes....
Something we don't know ?

If he gets in and he's MR is lower than horses that are left out of the final field, there will be an outcry. However, each year the selection panel never fails to surprise. Regards him shortening in the betting, I wouldn't take 500/1 about Futura because I don't think he can win it.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Would love to see him in the July to see if he is as good as made out to be, unfortunately can't see him getting into the July on what he has done. Surprised OCD was pulled at the last acceptances as he would have likely made the final field now.

Good morning Mr. H - read an article in our local paper wherein Tarry was surprised at the log in relation to where his horses currently stood. Unless he has an ace up his sleeve in the Jubilee, i think he will accept with Pomodoro despite the horse's current form. Having won the race for the last two years, i don't think the stable will want to miss having a representative this year, but yes, the horse has never reproduced it's earlier form.

Morning Bayern, I'm a fan of Pomo, having backed him in the July when he won BUT the horse is showing signs that mares are more his game now - I hate to see a good horse run downfield and that's why current form should be the decider for me - He is running below his rating and I cannot see the merit in giving him a run just so he can again finish downfield - I cannot seriously see him beating Yorker on current form so unless Tarry is trying to get his rating down I can't see any chance of him placing

Bayern at the last log his 3 horses were: 16th - Whiteline Fever, 17th - Halve The Deficit and 18th - Pomodoro. Don't think Pomodoro will qualify but Whiteline Fever I am sure will.
