UK Wednesday

Plenty of rain last night, should be soft at Nottingham.

NOTTINGHAM.

Course Characteristics:

The track is left handed (anti-clockwise) and is 1½ round. There is a spur at the entrance to the home straight allowing straight races over 6 furlongs. Interestingly these is a second straight course inside the main one to allow races on fresh ground if need be. The course is virtually flat with only very minor undulations.

Powerful galloping horses do well at Nottingham.

Draw Advantage: This depends on where the stalls are situated. On the straight course, if the stalls are on the stand side then high drawn horses have the advantage, especially when the going is soft. If the stalls are on the far side and the going is good to firm then low drawn horses have the advantage.

Had a good look At the 3-20 and three horses are of interest,Tagula Night 5/1,Queen Herimone 12/1 and Penny Garcia 16/1.
I'm playing the two bigger priced ones ew,Paddy Power have a good offer on this race.If your selection finishes 2nd or 3rd they will refund your win bet up to a
maximum of £50.
Queen Herimone-sired by Camacho, whose offspring do very well in soft conditions, add to that the form of trainer Derek Shaw and the booking of
a very capable apprentice, who takes off 7lb.This low weighted mare ticks plenty of boxes.

Penny Garcia-This filly does all her best racing in soft conditions, has good draw.I think higher the berth the better.Trainer not firing on all cylinders yet,
but he has had 2 places in last 3 runners,so hopefully the tide is turning.

Buick riding a lot for Godolphin when free from Gosden.Any significance that he rides Blue Aegean in 2.20(3.20) at Nottingham.
This is only ride and then has to leg it to Kempton for two rides this evening.

Was interested in clubland in the 3.20 but showing slight drift so will hang fire.

Only other interest in afternoon racing JARLATH R6. possibly slightly worse of at the weights with THE KID but it could be that it benefitted from the stronger handling of Moore to come again to win last time. Might be a similar situation with Hughes riding.

Have 1 or 2 that looking at going at Kempton and some interest in R4 at Ripon ( particularly now Haggas runner withdrawn). Starting to look good for last years winner O"Meara (WATCHABLE) but Barron had winner 2 years ago from his only entry over last 5 years and is mob-handed with 3 entries. The one I am leaning to at this stage is TAROOQ who has done well (albeit on A.W.) since leaving Colin Williams and broke the course record at LIngfield couple runs ago. Can get 7/1 without fav. for 2 places (effectively 3 if fav wins) so is of more interest than short price fav..

Like the look of PIVOT BRIDGE R6 Punchestown
